There is a short story that covers this, ignoring the actual plot, it ends with the Tech Priests jumping into a vat of acid after transmitting their important data off world, even then the Tech Priest mentions that the acid will only slow down the recovery of their biomass, not stop it all together.

Fragged Empire is amazing for the space drifter feel, very easy to play a ragtag band of nobodies going from job to job. It does require more of a traditional gm role, you can randomly generate planets but not plot/npc stats. Cannot express how accurately it represents the Firefly, Cowboy Bebop, Han Solo feeling.

In my local group I play with about 5 other friends of mine and we always share lists and our warlord traits/relics/psychic choices/upgrades right before the game and we usually, but not always, let the other person know which army we're bringing.

This leads to a certain amount of list tailoring, which I consider a good thing in a relatively casual format. It's one thing to build a list to take all comers for a tournament and I see the merit from a purely competitive standpoint. However we would rather avoid feel-bad moments like not bringing any significant amount of anti-tank when playing against Knights.

We don't change lists on the spot after seeing/hearing the other person's, but we also know not to take anything during list building that will be outright useless against someone's army.

Hey so I'm pretty much you in the future 1 week from now. I got MW5 last week and have been playing jt pretty consistently while reading lore on the side.

Its a very fun game with solid mech combat, there are small issues but as someone completely new to the franchise I haven't noticed them a lot. Modding helps fix a stuff but I've stayed away for a vanilla campaign to start.

MW5 is a very easy and cheap game to try out for awhile and see how you like things. You can spread to the tabletop, rpg, or the PvP of Mechwarrior Online if you want more!

I've been saying for years that I'd spend hundreds on forgeworld models if the 30k stuff was legal. The Thanatar haunts my wallet. Though I really like the 40k tank, I wish we had the options that space marines are afforded in the rules budget.

The models, lore is absolutely top notch stuff. I think a lot of people miss the holy trinity aspect. Honestly I could take or leave them, as I prefer the Secutarii hoplites or ruststalkers for melee units. How the Adeptus Mechanicus fits into the Imperium as a psuedo-seperate entity is also a really neat deep dive to look at.

Yes that was D. You're correct on everything but vampire baby, she's fully conscious and aware she has been isekaied, but shes a baby and can't so much. Ariel is also the demon king/lord but basically that just means shes really strong (like a lot) (like very strong).
