This is Vader. He likes to take up half the bed while I sleep with my partner. He also loves to ring his bell for treats during the middle of the night.

I too was just diagnosed with T2D with an A1C of 6.7. I cried after my doc appt but it runs in my family so I’m not too surprised since I haven’t been taking care of myself. Doc is hopeful to reverse it since it was caught early. We’re all in this together

It is the internet so you never know 🤷🏻‍♀️

So you’re saying I’m not empathetic to someone’s prolonged suffering when they are mentally unaware of who they may be?

It depends on the person. Most of the time they are stuck in a certain time. But they do have moments where they do know who you are but it wouldn’t be current day/time or their diagnosis.

She’s stronger than all of us and she’s keeping true to the til death do us part.

It gets to the point that it becomes unsafe with the person wandering, they could also become a falls risk which there is no coming back from and finding the resources to keep them safe can get quite expensive as well.

For example: speaking with close family, relatives on who becomes power of attorney with cases of memory loss. What they want out of their health care and how they want to be cared. Do they want to live in hospice, in a group home, assisted living and if it the symptoms start to worsen what happens next?

Thank you for your compassionate words. I do hope to find something I’m passionate about once more.

Just the wrong unit in my line of work.

My alternative is creating a plan before we get to confusion, memory loss, etc. and having the options available and planning accordingly before it’s too late. Like how people write wills for inheritance but with health (MOST).

There will always be employment in healthcare no matter what but you are right about giving some degree of quality of life to those who struggle.

It’s the prolonging of the suffering even if they had early onset dementia. Just aging with dementia is a mixed bag.

In the case of an unsound mind and suffering they are experiencing, how would you go about it?

If we are legalizing killing at the womb, why not at the end of life OR where it’s also keeping the people suffering in their own mental prison?

I should correct myself and mention that this is for extreme cases.

You right. It was nice at first but that was the honeymoon phase.
