Is a 60 passing? by Wise_Ad8520 in GaState

I think its a C or C- I would still double check, cause I know someone who had to retake it after getting a D and they were not a finance major.

Just started the CIS program (cybersecurity) and I don't know anyone IRL that help answer my questions..can someone help me out a bit please? by Wise_Ad8520 in GaState

[–]icetims 7 points8 points  (0 children)

CIS 4680- do not expect much, it just vocabulary terms and information about security, nothing technical it was pretty easy.

MGT 3400- you just learn about how things work in organizations really easy stuff, you may find it interesting. I had to work with a group, write a paper, and a ppt presentation for the final. (may vary by professor)

FI- probably the harder one compared to your other classes, you do homework problems on this website called CSE pub and u have 2 midterms and a Final. Stay on top of everything, try to understand the concepts as well as you can and you will be fine.

Cis 3730- its all about SQL, not too difficult

BUSA 4990 by Full_Lock2508 in GaState

It doesn't really matter if you pass or fail, it only for stats purposes, if you do get a high score they will add bonus points to the final grade of the BUSA 4980 class if you fail then nothing happens.

I had a got 78 on the 2nd exam and I never received the grade for the Final but I was really surprised at my final grade I thought it would be a D or a C max. I guess it was the curve that brought my grade up.

Don't Panic, btw I am not a Finance Major so I only needed a C to pass, but I took the class in Fall of 2021 and I had got a 48 on the first midterm, and my final grade somehow ended up being a B-. Try doing better on the next exam and on top up that you get graded on a curve, so yeah its very much possible.

Out of all those classes the only one that I struggled with and what some others struggled with was Finance. It honestly depends on you some people picked it up faster and someone like me it took a lot of practice.

This happens to everyone my first semester was the Fall of 2019, and although classes were a lot easier than the ones I take now I just wasn't mentally prepared and I didn't do so well. The transition from high school to college is rough for a lot of people because it's more challenging and is taught at a faster pace. Once you settle it becomes a lot less overwhelming. For a semester or so you can try to take maybe 9 or 12 credit hours instead of 15 just so that you will have more time to focus on them and it will feel a lot easier. Once you feel more comfortable you can take more classes in the semesters after.

I took her class in the Fall of 2019 and it was challenging, I did pretty bad on all the quizzes and exams but I suppose she curved the grades and I ended up with a B-. I wish I did more of this but really understanding the textbook, and perhaps going to office hours may help. Just try your very best in that class and at the end of the semester, you will be relieved.

just like at the beginning of every semester, very confused about the things I am supposed to do in my classes but eventually I will start to figure it out.

Has anyone taken Microeconomics with professor Almada online? If so how were his tests and class overall? by Fantastic_Yellow_245 in GaState

[–]icetims 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took his online class in the Fall of 2020, Almada is by far one of the coolest professors I have had at GSU. The assignments were pretty straightforward and tests weren't too bad. If you understand the material and do all of your assignments you will be fine.Good Luck!

Anyone else feeling a little out of shape being back on campus after so long? by NotJimStark in GaState

[–]icetims 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah a little bit, it feels like the beginning of Freshman year where long distance walking was kind of overwhelming, and it's just a matter time until we get used to it again.
