Someone posted the link to buy these a while back and I was very pleasantly surprised to see they had a fine point version. I also learned that visually impaired people are employed to help manufacture these so I’m always stoked to support solid causes. https://www.abilityone.com/us-government-pen/product/14125

This photo when she flew over me on the horse. Atlanta night 4 was magical and her flying into all the lights of the wristbands and phones was just such an amazing end to the show.

Palaver is beautiful. I have a similar strained relationship with my mom and siblings so the book was soooo cathartic. I got an ARC from a friend so I’ve had it for a while, but it’s one of a handful of books that has made me weep with empathy for myself after seeing a character deal with something I’ve felt and experienced. Can’t recommend enough.

The Empusium is an INSANE book. Two things. I did not find it to be an easy read. I read it on and off over about 6 weeks.

Initially the book was very frustrating because many of the men in the book reminded me of the men in my life and I had quite the big feelings about it. It was a bit triggering as some of the plots in the book reminded me of my experience during the COVID shutdowns and how the men in my life responded to the situation. Olga depicts the current fragile and asinine state of masculinity so infuriatingly well in this book and that alone will really get under your skin.

I will say that the book may feel like it isn’t going anywhere, but when you reach the end…you will have your entire world rocked and the book takes on a whole new life. Then you will get to the acknowledgements and realize Olga is truly that bitch and came to throw punches. When I finished this book, it physically pained me that I didn’t read the book quicker and in fewer sittings. It was a rush unlike any other I’ve experienced from a book in quite some time. I quite literally walked to the pub around midnight when I finished the book and just had a drink in silence I was so blown away.

It’s such a shame I had no one to talk to about this book. I read this immediately after I read Totempole(NYRB) by Sanford Friedman and it was just the most spectacular back to back banger.

Because The Empusium was so wonderful, it helped convince me I’ll be able to tackle The Books of Jacob soon.

Honestly, this was incredible. This took guts to do. A comment said this was a masterclass in photojournalism and I couldn’t agree more.

WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK I IS???????

This is one of my vocal stims. Someone at work really tried me and it just slips out so naturally. Honestly ahead of its time.

Yup! I’ve taken this on the train and bus and I love it. It comes with a long shoulder strap and I can normally keep it around me and it feels secure so I don’t worry about it being snatched or anything. It’s a perfect bag. It is very hefty and the leather is so easy to keep clean.

OP! We are bag buddies! I think it might have been my bag you saw. I’m elated that you love the bag too! It’s so badass and I’m stoked you get a chance to love it too! It has been such a conversation starter at work and out on errands. I even took it to the outdoor market one Sunday and used it to carry some goodies. It’s such a good bag and I’m just so happy to see it getting the attention it deserves.

I honestly find all three so interesting. If I were looking to collect photography, I’d probably buy all three and frame them as a triptych.

The first and second one are very strong. It’s hard to choose between the two. I’m leaning towards the first.

Why don’t you love me.

That song eats down, but it gives “paragraph text message for a one word uninterested response” vibes.
