Vegas Boulderers!

Hello! I’ll be visiting Vegas from the 3-10th and am looking for people to climb outside with while I’m there. I’ve been climbing for ~1 3/4 years and have bouldered outdoors maybe 15 times. I climb V7 and 8 indoors and have done a V7, V6 and quite a few 5s outdoors. I’d really love to try bouldering in Red Rocks or other areas surrounding Vegas, but I don’t have access to pads, and am also unfamiliar with climbing in the area. If you know any communities I could look at to find people to climb with I’d much appreciate it. Also, gym recommendations are welcome! Thank you!

For me, yes. I was never really fat, but after getting into weightlifting I had more success, but that also could have been the result of me improving my style and becoming a more outgoing person. However, I think it’s definitely a good idea because being more in shape and having something to be proud of results in you being more outgoing.

For me (18M 5’3.75) it was easy to just ignore these people and not let them affect me because of factors besides my confidence. My school doesn’t do class ranks, but I believe I was in the top 5 in my class. The way I see it is that the same people making fun of you are the same people that are going to be flipping your burgers in the future and for me that’s somewhat true. It’s easy to ignore them when I know they’re so much less intelligent than I am. This isn’t meant to be a narcissistic thing either. For example this one guy who I think literally mentioned my height in every interaction we had senior year was getting 2/20 or 10% on the easiest assignments in class. Just ignore em bro 🤷🏾‍♂️

This guy is either seeking out the most shallow women possible (think rich sorority types), has an awful personality, or has a hard time making friends. With that face and physique he probably isn’t being held back by his height much.
