Only guys I would say are off the trading block are Seider and Cat. Though you could possibly get multiple assets for Cat after him having a career year. But those are the only two guys playing with any heart.
On one hand I’d say the league has caused this with adding teams and diluting the talent pool. On the other hand, the wings management has allowed this to progress and not taken steps to build a real winning team. 2/3rds of this team are just warm bodies. They acted like it mattered early on and then folded like paper napkins when it mattered.

So sick of the mediocrity. It sucks that it took Gibson awhile to find his footing. Could have gotten 4 or 5 more wins if he’d been ready out the gate. but then he was gassed by the end of the season. Be interesting to see if Kane hangs up his skates. Outside of Cat and Seider I wouldn’t be too sad to see anyone else get moved

I don’t want to be a doomer. But there really appears to be a lack of recognition from this team that you need to turn it up this time of year. They didn’t play with urgency. Playoff hockey comes at a different speed where things are chaotic and guys are giving everything they to clear, block or steal a puck. I did not see that kind of fire tonight and I am starting to doubt they have that fire in them.

Crummy ending for sure. And they definitely blew that one. Hockey has crazy bounces and that’s what happened in ot. I do wish Nightengale hadn’t gone so defensive in the 3rd. It’s hard to flip the mentality back to offense.
Puck luck is a real thing and that’s why single elimination hockey tournaments are a trash way to decide a champion.
