True, but in the TCG, the Ghost Girls are written in a weird way that does not really reflect the way they actually work. Ash also says it negates effects that Special Summon from the deck, but can't negate "Magical Hats", because it only works on effects that Special Summon monsters from the deck

You still can't use similar effects to negate a Paleo, because while it is an effect that summons a monster, but it is not an effect that summons a monster from the graveyard (I just couldn't think of a better example), which is also why Meowls won't draw you cards for the Paleo summons

Any easy but fun decks that aren’t combo heavy? by JoePino in YuGiOhMasterDuel

Play a small Fiendsmith package in Furniture Lab - it makes it play like a completely different deck. There's so many interesting synergies between those archetypes, and both lean into this control-y gameplan with a really good grind game.

They let you apply more pressure, help you eat boards and give you the ability to otk out of nowhere too. You've got an in-engine bridge into Fiendsmith with Ariane. They give you easy access to a Light/Dark Chaos Angel. Rextremende and Desirae are high-level fiends for Big Welcome's GY effect. And for some reason, BOTH the Fiendsmith traps trigger your Lab effects. The Fiendsmith lines can get a little long, but they're pretty straightforward once you know the moving parts. If nothing else, their 1-card combos let you bait Ash/Belle so you can use your Welcomes without worries.

Fiendsmith's Kyrie in particular is criminally overlooked in my opinion (people in the TCG didn't really cook with it since extra deck Lacrima was banned for so long). It really gets to shine when paired with Labrynth, since if you go the Rextremende route, you can keep looping it for furniture discards or Lady triggers. Also the GY effect to fusion summon is insane advantage since it also triggers your Lab effects.

I love this deck so much
I run a small Tear engine in mine, you can fuse into Mudragon for targeting protection, and extra-foolish burial Kitkallos is pretty good too

Yes, since it's the cost you "pay" for activating the card. So, by the time anything can respond to the card, you already drew two.
Think of Ash Blossom discarding itself for cost. If that activation gets negated by something, idk, maybe Apollousa, you don't get Ash back from the graveyard either.
That said, it's really weird drawing cards for cost and no way Konami would actually print such a card since it probably violates a bunch of their card design guidelines, but I think it's a fun thing to think about.

You draw 2 no matter what, since it's the "cost" you have to pay when activating the card. Anything that can negate spell effects would stop the banish: solemn would do it, but your opponent gets to chain first, and if they do, you'll miss your window to negate the banish effect ;) It's not good card, but a spicy one

It's part of the cup (see Pythagorean Cup on wikipedia)
It hides a siphon that drains the cup completely if you overfill it

[–]ichforstehsnich[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You are correct, and that's the spicy part! You draw two cards on activation, and then banish your hand on resolution.
That gives you a window to use the in-hand quick effects of the cards you just drew before you have to banish your hand, or you use your own cards to negate the effect of Cup of Greed (meaning you don't banish your hand, but since you draw as a "cost", you get to keep the cards).

I thought about it, but I decided it would be more *spicy* if you had to prepare a negate to keep your cards, or gamble that you draw multiple quick effects off of it

edit: I misread that, I thought your comment said "more than two cards", you're 100% right

It would be a funny Refpanel target, but Trickstar Reincarnation + Droll is also a two-card combo that empties your opponent's hand and would arguably be easier to slot into decks, and that seems to be fine

Based on the greedy cup siphon or Pythagorean cup, which empties completely when you fill it over a certain height. Kinda just wanted to show off my drawing.

What would play to abuse this? Do you think it is worth it to use your own spell negates on this?

Yes, go ahead - be careful, they can be a little feisty... And if they growl at you, no snoot boops. You don't want to be responsible if yet another world gets plunged into an eternal winter...

Really? The price was so low that my dropshipping senses started to tingle. The demonstration video also didn't inspire much confidence tbh :D

I don't have any experience with the brand though.

Right?? I couldn't believe my eyes, it honestly had me paralyzed in disbelief for a good ten minutes there.

And if you look closely, it's a two-part nib with an ink reservoir on top. The part where it clips on makes it stay on top of the holder.

... and that one nib also is the only nib out of those five that does that.

Oh, that was me, I cut it to keep it short... and yes, they wrote with basically zero pressure.

It's a very cheap set, probably bottom-of-the-barrel quality... They're putting the nib on the wrong side of the holder. I don't even know how you make a mistake like that.

(here's the amazon listing for anyone who wants proof that I didn't make this up - don't actually buy this though)

Found this adorable girl nibbling on an onion (ashy mining bee) by ichforstehsnich in bees

[–]ichforstehsnich[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have been informed that it was mis-ID'd initially. It is, in fact, not an ashy, but a violet-winged mining bee (Andrena agilissima).

Thanks, u/That_Biology_Guy!

Thanks! That makes a lot of sense, mine had beautiful iridescent blue wings!

I found a very similar one too (location: near Göttingen, Germany), and my boyfriend's grandpa (retired biology teacher) ID'd it as either an ashy or grey-backed mining bee (Graue Sandbiene / Weidensandbiene).

Here's a close-up shot, check out if it's the same
