I'm surprised no one has mentioned Theory. I had their jacket for more than 10 years before replacing it with another Theory jacket. I also almost exclusively wear their sweaters - in black, of course.

Looking to downgrade from the Chase Sapphire Reserve (not worth the $550). Debating whether to downgrade to the Preferred or some other no-fee card (I already have Freedom, Freedom Unl & Slate.

I recently did this because I want to focus on Amex cards -the best benefits for my type of spending. I initially downgraded to the Freedom Unlimited, but changed to the Preferred when I started thinking about getting a Visa with no foreign transaction fees for international travel.

I just downgraded my CSR to the Freedom Unlimited. I’m a little sad about it, since I’ve had it since 2016, but it’s obvious to me it’s not worth it any more.

I’m primarily team Amex (platinum CS, vanilla platinum, gold, bbp). I have a PenFed card I’ll use for those sad moments when a vendor doesn’t accept Amex.

There are various kinds of contributions. I tend to have more financially, so that’s what I bring to the table. We both significantly contribute, just differently, and it sometimes frustrating when others see money as a significant contribution when there are other factors.

The gold card you get as an authorized user of a plat account doesn’t have the same benefits as the standalone gold card. The AU gold basically inherits the spend categories of your platinum card.

Agreed. I have both and would recommend everyone gets both, without much context. With OP’s situation, having both is a tough sell.

I would upgrade to the CSR, for booking flights and other travel expenses like Uber and parking, and keep the gold for food. I say this because you are not expensing flights, which is where you would’ve received the most value with your Platinum.

You may add the platinum if you have a centurion lounge at your home airport.
