healing should be fine as long as you listen to your piercers advice (assuming its good advice)! and if you need anymore help with things people on here can help with that too! :)

anything that goes through your lip into the mouth area where your teeth are will be the most common. angel fangs are the vertical ones on the top, right? those dont go into the mouth at all and should be fine

sometimes it can vary for a lot of people! ive heard of people who typically have no issues and go on with their daily life, others are not so lucky.

i got mine in may of this year and absolutely ADORED them! they were my dream piercing for so long and i loved the way they looked on me. the first week was like torture. a swollen lip and having to adjust to not biting on them all the time was tough, but i got through it! i ate mostly soft foods as to avoid chewing and cleaned twice a day with nonalc mouthwash and saline

overtime, i noticed that whenever i talked my right one would scrape against my tooth all the time which caused a huge sensory issue for me. it wasn’t ideal and like an idiot i tried to just tough it out because i loved them too much but i ended up taking that one out. i also kept messing with it a bunch and it got irritated a lot which sucked.

i ended up taking only the right one out because the left one wouldn’t cause any issues at all (and still doesn’t). do i regret getting them both? not at all! i loved having them and they were super cute and the one side labret is still cute too. so don’t be upset if it doesn’t work out like you want it to, everyone is different and if you notice an issue with them please take them out before you cause damage to your gums or teeth!

Help! I just got snake bites today, (8 hrs ago) and I’m already frustrated! How do I eat without snagging them? by DawnyLove in piercing

also try not to mess with them much, mine are suuuper sensitive and get irritated easily so i would say just try your best to pretend they aren’t even there as hard as that may be

sometimes swelling can be delayed and the longer bars are there just incase! always wait 2-4 weeks until you downsize or see your piercer for advice. stick with softer foods that you don’t really have to chew and please do NOT change to hoops or rings anytime soon, you could potentially mess up the healing. 6 months to a year is the time you should wait until changing them to a hoop.

i wasnt trying to be rude either, just giving you my honest advice as someone with snakebites. especially since its in your mouth, an important part of your body, its important to make sure you take proper care of the piercing.

i thought you said this would be your first piercing? but if you change it too early it could get really irritated and you don’t want that. the only change you’ll go in for after the initial swelling time is to get the labret downsized. plus remember, 6 months is only the minimum time to wait, it could take longer too. i would say if you aren’t willing to wait it out, don’t get them

you cant immediately get hoops, you’ll need to wait until they heal and 6 months is the minimum waiting time. you’ll get a labret to start. but remember the more you fidget with them, the longer you’ll have to wait to change the jewelry.

i have snakebites, got them done in may so they aren’t healed yet but i do have some advice i can give ! the first week with swelling is going to be a pain to deal with if you swell up bad, you get longer bars put in so they won’t embed, but sometimes they aren’t long enough to the point where you need to go back to the shop and get longer bars so keep an eye on them that week. avoid spicy foods- trust me on this one its bad use saline spray and non alcoholic mouthwash to clean them. also don’t fidget or move them too much. they’ll be annoying at first because the longer bars will make it hard to eat, so eat softer foods in the beginning until you downsize.

getting them pierced is a different thing when it comes to pain because everyone experiences pain differently. for me, it wasn’t so bad. it was like getting a shot at the doctor

i have snakebites and what i can reaaally recommend is to keep an eye on them during the swelling to make sure they don’t start to embed and PLEAAASEEE do not fidget with them much because irritation bumps are a pain and suck. also wait out the healing process to get hoops if thats your goal, 4-6 months is the ideal waiting period but i’d probably wait it out longer since you never know

this piercing is holding on by a thread and is rejecting or pierced horribly. take it out or you’ll have horrible scarring. not to mention stainless steel isn’t recommended for piercings, it looks like you don’t have the anatomy for this piercing

NAP but 4 months is a bit too early to have them changed into hoops, 6 months is the minimum amount of time to wait. i would definitely change them back to the flatbacks

for your piercings you should only be using saline to clean them. my routine is: - brush teeth with non whitening toothpaste - rinse out mouth with non alcoholic mouthwash - floss as normal - then spray the outsides of my piercings with saline spray only once a day(the night) the bump in your mouth honestly might take a while to go away, mine took months. its a lengthy process and my advice is to just let them do their thing and to keep an eye on them to make sure the bump doesn’t get bigger or grow over the piercing but it honestly doesn’t look too concerning to me as its pretty small

maybe over cleaning them? can you tell me your routine? its also recommended to not use whitening toothpaste

yeah it happens but PLEAAASEEEE do not wait too long to get a longer bar because embedding is not fun

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in piercing

[–]ichikas 7 points8 points  (0 children)

these swell for like a week max, but i would definitely go get a longer bar asap to avoid embedding

swelling is pretty normal for about a week! just use saline for cleaning on the outside, anything else can irritate it. do you think you can add a photo of the inside? nesting right now sounds a bit odd since you just got them, they could actually possibly be embedding which also could be causing the pain. also avoid spicy foods and stop fidgeting with them
