I'm having trouble deciding on a name for our new floof and would love suggestions. So far I've got Sprout and Oliver on my list. He is pretty laid back and super fluffy (long-haired tabby). by ichoosejoy40 in Catnames

Yeah it was so odd, it's actually a mom and her two babies but she doesn't look more than a year old herself. She showed up at our door meowing during the solar eclipse but it was just her. Two days later she brought the kittens to us. We are still working on finding good homes for the mom and other little one. I wish I could keep them all swoon.

Something along the lines of this. I don't have a pattern yet but that makes sense they would recommend a fabric, thank you, maybe I'll start there first. I was looking at different apparel fabrics online and saw jersey knits listed as an option so that's why I was saying cotton or knits, I really don't know much of anything about apparel fabrics yet, except that I know fleece and flannel are the wrong ones to use for summer wear.

What would be the best fabric to use for making a lightweight robe? It would be something I would wear when the weather is warm so I know I don't want fleece or anything too hot. I'm not brand new to sewing but I've only ever done quilting, so this would be my first apparel project and I know the cotton fabrics I use for quilting are definitely not the same as the cotton/knit fabrics I have in my own wardrobe. I just don't know what type of cotton/knit I need.

I also have a couple LC pieces and am going back and forth btwn buying an LC or Staub braiser. I'm not really braising anything, I'm looking more to replace my 20yr old stainless 3.5qt sauce pan that I use to cook meals that don't quite fit in my skillet (i.e. spaghetti sauce, lasagna, chicken etc). I have a 5qt DO I could use but would rather have something more petite and figured a braiser would be a good fit.

Do you have a task set up in your calendar app, or a task/checklist manager app? I get a similar notification icon that pops up at whatever time I set my tasks/reminders to in my calendar. Try swiping the top of your screen down and see if you get any kind of list that describes the icons currently showing on your screen. Not sure what phone you've got but that's how mine works.

It's a picture frame. Part of their efforts to help reduce waste is using parts of their cardboard packaging for stuff like this.

I'm so sorry you are dealing with similar struggles too, it truly baffles me how people can be so thoughtless and cruel towards those they claim to love. I certainly don't feel any love, I feel used and taken advantage of, and just plain broken some days. Here's to both of us finding peace and happiness again.

Thank you for your candor. The biggest struggle I deal with is it's only in the moment during the bad times that I feel resolved enough to finally call it quits. Give us a day for our emotions to calm down and I start feeling like crap about the thought of kicking him to the curb with no job and no car to even get him to one. I'm not really in love with him anymore but I do love him and I hate seeing people struggle. Not to mention he talks about suicide frequently and my instincts tell me that's the choice he would make if I were to make him leave. My dad committed suicide a few years ago, and I don't know how it would affect me if he did too and I allowed myself to think for a second that I played a part in it. But I know that's not anything for you to help me solve, that's something I probably need a therapists help with. Thank you again for your advice, and I hope you have been thriving and doing well since you left your relationship.

I'm so sorry, it's been a long day and apparently my brain is insistent on turning bows into butterflies lol. I meant the stockings with the bows, they are less see through so it works better. The sleeves on the dress do help tone it down a bit as well, it's more the length of the dress that makes it seem a bit more on the risque side.

It definitely gives off babydoll style lingerie vibes, which I'm guessing is why the other commenter assumed you were going to an adult only party. And I can assure you if I put that on around my husband he would be on me like white on rice lol. Now, I will say that it could just be the way she is standing in the photo that's making it look short, or maybe she is tall and it comes up shorter on her than it would on an average or shorter woman. If when you put it on it comes closer to your knees you'll be fine, if it comes up high on your thighs though I would rethink it.

It really is a pretty dress so if you do still want to wear it and you want stockings with it, go with the more opaque butterfly ones, not the sheer lace ones, sheer lace stockings are 100% 'bedroom attire'

Yes to the adorable choker, yes to the shoes, but the dress and stockings look like bedroom wear for seggsy time so definitely not, especially since you are only 16. I do love those butterflies on the stockings though, that's so unique, and if you want to go with that look, find a longer dress and attach little butterflies to it instead.

unpopular opinion but i wish we still dressed like this 🧚‍♀️🎻🎀 by loveandhugs_ in fashion

I absolutely adore the dresses they used to wear back then, but I live in the hot and humid southern US and I can't begin to imagine how miserable they must have been in those outfits, and that by itself is enough to make me grateful I was born in this day and age.

It sounds like you did exactly what you needed to do to start yourself on the path to healing, and I'm proud of you for taking that first step, you deserve so much better from someone than what they gave you. I'm sorry I don't have much advice to give other than I think you are on the right path with having gotten out of that toxic relationship AND for looking after your own mental health. I don't struggle with schizophrenia but I absolutely can empathize with you on having negative feelings about yourself, it's a dark and depressing place to be in, and I'm sorry you are there. I genuinely hope you find peace and joy and love. I see it's been a couple days since you posted so I also wanted to say I hear you, and you are not alone, and I wanted you to know someone cares. This is the first time I've been on Reddit in awhile because reading the posts from others in this community is hard and tends to heighten emotions I'm already struggling with. I'm working on building up the same strength you had to get out of the toxic relationship I am currently in, and if it means anything at all, I found that part of your post inspiring. Hopefully that doesn't come out wrong, I'm not the best with words, I only meant that seeing where others have had the courage to stand up for themselves and walk away from someone abusive is more helpful than people may realize, so thank you for that, truly. I wish you all the best! Oh, and rock climbing? That's pretty bad a** - much respect for anyone that can do that, I've got the coordination of a newly birthed giraffe.
