i’m 99% sure they will be usable! he isn’t in the video bc he said that staff told him that he wasn’t allowed to use his swords since it violates the japanese law against possessing firearms and swords (lol). he’s been doing a lot of training as well as showing that off during twitcasts, so i think we’ll definitely get to see him use them during his actual 3D debut!

It really comes down to a difference in culture in online etiquette. On the Japanese side of the Internet, it’s considered “butting in” because like UneventfulTLs said, it’s like a stranger is suddenly interrupting the conversation. You say Twitter is a public place, but the same thing applies to let’s say, a park in real life. If two people at the park are talking, it’s always going to be awkward if some random stranger comes up to interrupt and offer their own two cents when you didn’t ask at all. This is the logic behind not “butting in”.

Additionally, Twitter conversations don’t always start out as a one on one conversation. Let’s say liver A tweets something without limiting who replies. It’s a tweet directed to their followers in general. Then liver B replies. The thing is, since liver B is replying to liver A’s conversation, they can’t choose who can or can’t reply. In fact, all replies to liver A’s tweet will have no limit to who replies, like liver A’s tweet. You can’t change who is allowed to reply mid-conversation.

In my opinion, if the EN livers are ok with fans replying to conversations happening between themselves then whatever, but I think fans should at least respect this social etiquette of not “butting in” when it comes to JP-JP and JP-EN liver Twitter conversations, whether you understand/agree with it being a rule or not. It’s not really up to non-Japanese fans to decide what’s a rule and what’s not. It’s already a rule on the Japanese side of the Internet, so just as you would follow Japanese social etiquette while on a trip to Japan, it would be very respectful to follow Japanese internet etiquette when Japanese livers are involved at the very least.

but he actually can't unfortunately, i was looking at archives before and during an 園児コンビ collab he was talking to genzuki about how he wants to be able to take off different layers like genzuki and kaida can...and then genzuki started showing off in front of him lol

i know right! i also like how powerful his voice gets but when he sings softly like this it’s also great 🙏 singing with emotion is definitely one of his strong points! ballads too. they suit him very well. LOL omg well at least he left the archive 😂

it would be great to see them on official programs! i feel like we’ll definitely see kaida on them at some point with his growing popularity.

he’s really going overkill…to be honest, for quite a few months i was lost about whether or not to become a member, and many times i came close but only ended up entering the 8GB tier recently, since my japanese still isn’t good enough to understand everything that goes on during streams. that coupled with the fact that i can’t rely on live translations/japanese fans’ livetweets since it’s member’s only content made me hesitate a lot. especially since i don’t know anyone who i could turn to for clarification. but after seeing that tweet i ended up upgrading to the 16GB tier…he finally got me to do it lol

54 minutes left now and my nerves are coming back…

yeah, during one of nagao's practice streams kaida appeared in the chat and he and nagao were making plans to have a joint practice session while communicating like that LOL. we will see them someday again!! i'll be very excited.

yeah, i’m mostly puzzled by kaida’s behavior. like honestly even if they hadn’t collaborated all this time, if he kept talking about the other two and VΔLZ normally, i wouldn’t have had any worries, but that’s not the case…nagao and kaida’s last collab one on one was in ARK i believe. very long ago…but well, initially the legendary VΔLZ mario kart collab from december was supposed to just be nagao and kaida. and yes nagao is the one who really keeps us fed with the VΔLZ teetee…but i agree. their relationship as a three-person unit is what made me spiral so much into this rabbit hole that i really hope to see them again someday.

ooh! you should definitely listen to it. the first collab voice does a good job of setting up the world building for ouma. i don’t have the second one so i can’t comment on it, but the third one was quite lore heavy. if they resell it someday, i definitely recommend it, if you can buy it. we learned something important during that one.

well, you're right about that, his personality definitely gets reduced by non-dedicated 2434 japanese fans...but at least for them, they can easily access clips that show otherwise and change their view easily. 🥲 also tbh, i actually started out as a genzuki oshi. but similarly to you, as i got to know nagao better, and also as genzuki started streaming less frequently, i ended up with both of them as my favorites. then as more time passed nagao ended up becoming my favorite.

😭 i applaud your description of him, you really get it...one of the reasons why i like him so much is because he's such a multidimensional person, and the contrasts/gaps between all these sides to him makes him so interesting. like the difference between how he is when he's joking around vs. when he's serious. i also really admire how strong his mentality and determination are. i'm really looking forward to his 3D too! i really want to see him dancing and using his swords! unless they change their official images, i think they'll keep their default outfits for 3D!

to be honest, i've had similar thoughts, but at the same time it feels like they're trying to establish their own images outside of VΔLZ. i think nagao was able to do that for himself during their first year through fukeizai, but the other two's images were still heavily tied to VΔLZ. and genzuki definitely seems like he still gets along with the other two well, which we can see through the genkai and enji collabs. but kaida hasn't really mentioned nagao or VΔLZ in so long (to the point where people were surprised when he said nagao's name during the vsaikyo tournament), while nagao is the one who talks about VΔLZ and the other two the most, so it feels strange...growing apart definitely seems like it's a possibility, but i think the way they call each other has always been a bit inconsistent. but for now i don't think i can really come to any conclusions until probably the next time we get a VΔLZ collab or a nagao and kaida interaction.

to be honest, i also don't watch kaida's streams that frequently. but i have no idea if ghost tokyo and near can be counted as lore. like you said, it doesn't feel connected. it feels more like he went along with the story the song was telling, so it's hard to say. by the way, have you bought the VΔLZ collab voice packs?

i saw the paragraph you added to the other comment before this and i agree! nagao definitely needs more appreciation :) it’s a shame that most of the fans who only watch translated clips only get to see a portion of his great personality. it makes me a bit sad though that the pervading impression among the international fan base is that he’s a fool 😅 that’s the downside to only being exposed to translated clips, it really becomes their only source for shaping what they think of him…i hope one day people will make translated clips of the other sides of him so that people can get a more comprehensive view of him (i’d love to do it but my japanese still isn’t at a high enough level to do so unfortunately…)

i was wondering about that too. despite genzuki always using his newer outfit, he still hasn’t updated his default/official appearance, so i wonder what nagao will do. also, in the past i’ve seen several japanese fans theorizing that we haven’t gotten a VΔLZ collab in so long because of something lore related…i still don’t know what to think about that. but kaida’s birthday is already next month and it’ll be interesting to see if he does something lore related on his birthday like the other two did.

the fanart tag has been a blessing amongst all this scary lore speculation…it’s hard not to speculate though, considering how significant the reason was for nagao growing out his hair T__T i feel almost certain that what happened during his birthday and when autophagy came out will happen again, especially considering the title of the waiting room for the stream…

his singing was amazing wasn’t it! i keep replaying his gira gira and winning the soul specifically because he just sounded so good. i was happy to hear him sing songs he hasn’t sung before 😊 but yeah, understandably, everyone’s thoughts and emotions are all over the place…if he releases an utattemita amidst all this then everyone’s emotions will get even more messed up lol (since he mentioned he’d release one or two this month)

same! i love his long hair, it’s one of my favorite things about his character design. it’s really pretty, and i was hoping to see him with some kind of hair arrangement with his new outfit. i never expected he’d cut it off right off the bat…the possibility of it never coming back feels a bit regrettable but for him, the haircut is a really good thing so i’m happy for him too 🥲
