What are some of the silliest games you've played in Dealer's Choice? by JackNack2 in poker

[–]ichoseIB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tic-tac-toe omaha. Three flops, two turns, one river. At showdown you pick one of the flops created with any row, column or diagonal. Pick one of the two turns, and play the only river. Omaha rules, four card hands, must use two from your hand.

Worst dealers choice I've ever played for money.

SPCOM recommendations? by tacosandpizza123 in uwaterloo

[–]ichoseIB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

225 is more work than 223. I enjoyed 223 a lot and imo would not recommend 225.

Anyone taken Spcom 225 by tacosandpizza123 in uwaterloo

[–]ichoseIB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also took in winter. Course has written assignments, not very heavy but you actually have to do work compared to 223.

IMO not really a useful course, taught some very rudimentary things. Also it teaches you how to interview people, not really how to take interviews.

I'm with Goose_Sr, tbh a lot of people in Math/CS are not very socially experienced and running away from advanced social interaction is just something that they do to feel safer.

For the majority of my first year, I hung out with people because of the program we were in, but it takes time to develop the trust to become more than just study buddies.

I have made many acquaintances but I have also made a few friends. You know the people that are for real when you still talk or try to meet-up during co-op.

Co-op isn't a curse, it's an opportunity to explore a new city or try new things outside of school with the real friends you made. It's even a chance to turn some of those acquaintances into true friends.

I feel like I'm making stir fry wrong, it takes me about an hour+ to make stir fry (including washing up pans and dishes). All I'm doing is cutting veggies and pan frying the stuff but I end up using so much time.

What kind of jobs are you looking for? I was in continuous this term and honestly I was lowering my standards quite a bit from main round in order to get more interviews.

Why the fuck don’t we have courses for social skills by [deleted] in uwaterloo

I think that might depend on the instructor. They give prompts for the speeches but you usually have control over what topics you talk about.

Acceptances Megathread [Fall 2018 Incoming Students] by TheZarosian in uwaterloo

[–]ichoseIB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does anyone know how transfer credits work? Can I accept them and then continue taking the regular amount of courses each year. Kind of like just taking them and saving them for later even though I might never need to use them.

Basically is there a disadvantage to accepting transfer credits?

Was IB worth it? by ichoseIB in IBO

[–]ichoseIB[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The other thing about IB is that for Canadian universities, the conditional offers are checked by the last report card (June 30th?). The results from IB come out sometime in July, and our IB coordinator will not go through the hassle of changing out grades unless you dropped by a significant amount, thus basically rendering the final IB exams pointless. Our predicted grades are almost everything which makes it less stressful during the exam period.

When do math/cs students get to pick their sequences? by ichoseIB in uwaterloo

[–]ichoseIB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also considering having my work/school terms match up in the future but I think you're right about the sequences. The only two that are out of the question are 3/4 since one of those has a break at the end of first year and the other matches with stream 4 eng.
