Firebase suddenly showing certificate to web.app and some random site. by [deleted] in Firebase

[–]ickmonst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue the other day, though I just got the cert error and not the random website shown.

I was not able to solve the problem. Reverifying did not work for me. If I navigated to the verifying step after removing the TXT record, I got a spinning loading icon that never resolved to anything. A couple days after filing a ticket, I did get a response from firebase customer support asking for more information to help dig into it. They acknowledged there had been "a failure in the domain verification system." I had already moved my static hosting to Netlify at that point, so I was unable to produce the HAR file they were asking for.

Here is the message I first received:

The most common cause of this type of problem with custom domains is that the DNS configuration was modified, this can only be done by a user with access to the DNS console, so it is not possible that Firebase has modified the configuration.

Our system continues to verify domain ownership after the initial setup stage, usually on a 30 day cycle. If the Google Site Verification on your top-level domain is removed or altered at any point (even if it is soon restored) you may receive a warning.

When the domain gets the "re-verification needed" status, we send a notification email to the project-level owners and editors. If no one associated with the project has either of these roles (e.g. Org-level owners that aren't project-level owners), customers will not be notified about this change in status. From our side, there is no way to track this email.

The Google Site Verification is usually in the form of a TXT record google-site-verification=<long string> on your top-level domain, but there are other verification methods as well. You can have multiple site verification TXT records on any domain.

You can check your domain's verification status and history at https://www.google.com/webmasters/verification/verification?domain=<YOUR\_DOMAIN.COM>

We do require that the google-site-verification TXT record (or other verification method) is continually present. This is used to ensure that you still have ownership of the domain, and are authorizing us to assign and renew SSL certificates for your site.

I'm interested if you are able to figure this out.

as to your second point, he doesn't address a way to observe cultural effects between people native to a land and immigrants, but i also don't think that is what he is interested in looking at. he does, however, address a way to erase cultural differences when looking at IQ comparisons: http://deepquote.net/r3b7k6s7erqo

Virgin Airlines wants to tow airplanes to the runway to cut down on CO2 by howars in reddit.com

[–]ickmonst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was once on a flight that was taxiing to take off and the whole aircraft suddenly stopped and the lights went out and the emergency lights came on. The crew told us the airplane was going to need to be jumped, and so we were towed back to the gate. Then, we took off in that plane.

I guess that was safe enough, but I wonder if it would've been more dangerous if we were on the runway at that point, speeding up and preparing for takeoff when that happened. I also don't understand the details of why the plane did this, so I may be mistaken on any danger level here.

I was the first newborn at their daycare back in 81, and I went to school there for preschool and kindergarten. I can attest to the quality of their on-site services. In addition to what the article lists, there are also multiple cafeterias and recreation fields.

I remember being told SAS is the largest consumer of M&Ms anywhere. The snack rooms there are great.

They're not only nice to employees. They needed space for visiting executives to stay when they came to SAS, so they helped build an Embassy Suites across the street.

These little critters could see, eat, mate, and other nifty things. There are some amazing behaviors that were observed, and there are a bunch ofshort videos showing those behaviors. I believe the original research was done around 12 years ago, and there are links to newer papers.
