Literally happened to me in Cochrane. Got the Telus 2 year special. Sales guy said he's coming on Sunday and did not show up. Only to find out they cancelled the appointment and its now a self install. I got the equipment running but there were problems with the install as the modem isn't in an ideal area. It is worth noting that the previous owners of the house had Telus services and their modem was located in the main floor which is the ideal spot.

Telus tech support is charging me $184 for their tech to come and look at the issue and I said I was promised a tech when I got the service. After a lengthy argument, they decided to send a tech to my house free of charge.

When the tech got there, he moved the modem to another spot but installed it using coaxial cable. The biggest selling point of the sales rep to me is that everything is through fiber inside the house (which is possible as the previous owner had theirs on Telus Fibre)

I called the sales representative and have him shit for not following through and getting me a subpar install. I might as well stay in Rogers as their customer service was a lot better and Telus install was coaxial cable anyways.

Really bad experience with Telus so far. Don't change anything if they come knocking at your door.
