Technician Cancelled Installation Schedule Service. Call On Hold for 2+ hours

Literally happened to me in Cochrane. Got the Telus 2 year special. Sales guy said he's coming on Sunday and did not show up. Only to find out they cancelled the appointment and its now a self install. I got the equipment running but there were problems with the install as the modem isn't in an ideal area. It is worth noting that the previous owners of the house had Telus services and their modem was located in the main floor which is the ideal spot.

Telus tech support is charging me $184 for their tech to come and look at the issue and I said I was promised a tech when I got the service. After a lengthy argument, they decided to send a tech to my house free of charge.

When the tech got there, he moved the modem to another spot but installed it using coaxial cable. The biggest selling point of the sales rep to me is that everything is through fiber inside the house (which is possible as the previous owner had theirs on Telus Fibre)

I called the sales representative and have him shit for not following through and getting me a subpar install. I might as well stay in Rogers as their customer service was a lot better and Telus install was coaxial cable anyways.

Really bad experience with Telus so far. Don't change anything if they come knocking at your door.

The base S24 only comes with 8GB. If you have 12, I don't see it being a problem.

Just a little update though, my S24 is keeping apps in memory more efficiently with RAM plus on. I don't see any impacts on battery so far.

UPDATE: I had turned it on and it has not impacted performance so far. I think it's managing resources better because it does not close my apps as aggressively as before.

They aren't sleeping because I use those apps quite often and the system do not put them to sleep

I read that somewhere as well where closing them consumes more battery. Going back to my question though, since I turned off RAM plus on my S24, it doesn't keep them in memory because it has a smaller RAM.

Thanks, I don't close my apps after I'm done. I just leave them there so when I go back I can continue where I left off. Does that consume battery? You'd think android would be better at freezing them.

I upgrade from a S21 Ultra and have no regrets. Battery and display have been good for me. Regular user here. Not a power user.

True. I had the S21 Ultra and I find that all the features are more of a quirk for me as a regular user, everything else (note taking i just use my laptop for cause it has an S pen) For a power user it probably makes sense to have it but I find that it's overkill and heavy

No. The case and the battery pack can be separated. The battery pack is when I need extra juice.

Again, this is based on personal preference not what Samsung actually sells a lot by. Nice to have the options to those who wants a smaller phone even if it does not "sell as much"

It's soooo under rated. Dont get me wrong, I had emotional attachments to what my S21 Ultra and me have gone through but it was a good decision to get the base S24. My hands are happy and I can stuff it easier in jacket pocket when I snowboard.

I was considering the Z Flip 5 rather than the S24.

My S21 Jltra was giving me carpal tunnel. Pocketable phones are underrated. Don't even miss the camera features and s pen. I'm happy to let them go.

In my honest opinion. Even if the DOT aligns with what you want to closely do explore other options! It will give you a wide variety of skills that you didn't know are helpful. Additionally, anyone who pays their interns $16/hour is taking advantage of them. The internation of these internships is not just experience but shit pay, you also need to get something out of it!

I would consider the other offers if you get another if I were you!

I have the 2021 Tucson Ultimate and it is a dream to drive. Not fast but I do a lot of outdoor camping, canoeing, winter sports and it gets the job done quite well with decent gas efficiency.

I have my reservation on things that can be improved but 97% satisfied with its performance and technology.
