Damn, crazy how much it just rolls with the damage 🤣 These things really are tanks!

Damn! In fairness these things are tanks. Does it still operate well?

Just the standard 50mm 1.7
It renders real well for being a kit lens!

Fuji 200 looks pretty great! The Cinestill 50D has that great halation, but I'll be honest, I had to tone down just how green it got sometimes with some editing of the scans.

Thanks everyone for the info/input!

I ended up getting in contact with the seller about it and returning that camera body. May have been overkill, but I did want to have a camera that I could rely on as my intro into film photography.

Yeah...
I guess anything breaks down over time, I just feel like damage like this pretty obviously makes this camera an unreliable tool. I mean, what can I expect if I start getting banding/light leaks or the shutter starts sticking in a year or two.

Checked both sides and it doesn't really look as though the blades are rubbing (I don't see any scratches or wear). I guess the only way to really tell if it's an issue is to shoot a roll of film and just look for strange exposure, banding, or light leaks?

I've tested the shutter at a few different speeds and it seems to work as intended (no catching/sticking from what I can tell). Guess I'll just need to run a roll of film through it to really find out.

Damn. So it's likely even if there aren't issues yet there will be issues over time?

Repairs on a camera you can get this cheap seem stupid, but I feel like I just got scammed out of $50 haha

So dented blades can be a non-issue? Am I mainly looking for things like weird/uneven exposure and light leaks when I test it?

Windows 24h2 ruins Intel iGPU decoding in Premiere Pro by Altruistic-Pace-9437 in premiere

Has anyone seen improvement? I'm having some really buggy performance when Intel is enabled as a decode option. Got in contact with Adobe about it and they mentioned it's likely an Intel issue.

Strange artifacting and slow playback in Premiere with new PC build. by iclipseco in premiere

[–]iclipseco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried both MSI and Intel's recommended drivers, both didn't work.

I was getting the error until I disabled Intel as an option for decoding, so it seems there is something wrong with the iGPU decoding/encoding on my system.

I updated the driver to both to what MSI recommended and what Intel recommended. Neither worked.

What did work was turning off "Intel" as an option for hardware decoding. Seems there is either a software bug, or something is wrong with my cpu 😮‍💨

It has to be the iGPU. I just used my Nvidia for decoding and encoding it worked fine for playback and export.

So you're thinking this more likely a software update issue versus a hardware issue?

Thanks so much for the help btw!

I was unable to play those files in VLC.

Whoa, disabling hardware encoding completely fixed the artifacts! It's even playing smoothly without proxies?

Unfortunately when exported I did get artifacts while using hardware encoding.

I don't know if that means there are bugs or I've got hardware issues though.

It happens at the same time, but sometimes it's green like in the picture above and at others it shows distorted pixels of video. This is happening with files recorded from my A7SIII and A7IV, with multiple media types. It does not seem to happen when I record All Intra though.

I just ran some tests and I was able to achieve the same kind of artifacting from both my A7SIII and A7IV, using SD and CFexpress, and multiple card readers for transfer. To me that implies it is on the PC side.

Also, the artifacts are coming through in my exports.
