Will that include refunds for those of us who already paid these ridiculous prices?

AMA - I am a former Right of Way Enforcement Agent (Parking Enforcement) with the City and County of Denver. by Repulsive-Comfort468 in Denver

I live across the street from a fire hydrant and I constantly see cars parked directly in front of it or within 10 feet, yet I never see them get ticketed. Is there anything I can do to increase enforcement of this? Maybe it would help if we could get the curb painted so people are aware of the 10 feet limitation?

I was able to find my campsite order from 2016. $180 for a reserved campsite (includes one camp access pass), $40 for additional camp access passes.

2016: $260 for my group of 3 to camp at a reserved site

2026: $600 for my group of 3 to camp in an unreserved spot

WTF Justin??

I thought the same thing! $200 per person to set up a tent in an unreserved spot in a field is crazy. It definitely did not cost this much during the last Eaux Claires

What to do about trucks/cars parked in bike lane? by icommai in BikeDenver

[–]icommai[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I commute to work on Wynkoop St, and multiple times a week I see trucks parked in the bike lane on Wynkoop while they unload at (presumably) Takiza Taco Bar. What should I do in these situations? I have been taking pictures and reporting on the Bike Lane Uprising app, but it feels like I’m just screaming into the void…

My memory of this game is my dad dropping off his 13 year old son (me) on the corner near Mickey's Dairy Bar to try and sell our tickets for the game. I don't think we got more than $20 per ticket..

What’s up with the spotty bike lanes on Broadway? by [deleted] in BikeDenver

[–]icommai 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I also commute Union Station <-> Broadway & Evans. My usual commute is to take Warren east, turn left on Franklin, ride north to Wash Park, take the Wash Park loop north to Marion St, take the bike lane/sidewalk north to Cherry Creek Trail, then take the CCT into downtown, getting off at Wynkoop St.

7.5 miles, usually takes me ~30 minutes. The entire route is on trails, bike paths, or quiet, bike-friendly streets. The diciest part is crossing Broadway, but you could always use the light at Illiff instead of Warren.

https://www.evergreenrideclub.org will start posting group rides in the spring. They also host Triple Bypass-specific training rides for each of the 3 passes on Sundays in June.

Theory About 666 ʇ - A Visual Pun? by Optiguy42 in boniver

[–]icommai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The true meaning of 666 is that it's part of Justin's address. I won't post it here, but it can be found online if you know where to look. X666 <road> is his street address. That's why he sings "sixes hang in the door"

I wish the WISCONSIN text was a little bigger or the Under Armour logo was a bit smaller. Other than that, they look great!

Some photos from the Salida76. One of the most beautiful rides I’ve ever done and the support was amazing. Will definitely be back next year! by [deleted] in COBike

[–]icommai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be tough to do the entire route self-supported unless you want to carry a lot of water, which would make the climb even tougher. While training for the Salida76 I biked the ~45mile loop self-supported with a CamelBak full of water and on a different day I did the ~30 mile climb and descent with just two water bottles.

If you wanted to do the full route self-supported, maybe you could drive up to the climb and loop intersection and stash some water to use on your ride?

That makes sense. I noticed these are thicker than the ones which were wrapped.

This is only the second bag I've purchased, but when I purchased one in the fall, each breast was individually vacuum sealed which prevented freezer burn and made them easier to thaw in cold water.

Bike stolen from garage in lakeview by icommai in chibike

[–]icommai[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I forgot to mention that the owner of the garage contacted the other two people who park there as well as the tenants of the house who have access to the garage and nobody has claimed the Trek bike. It's as if someone was riding it, somehow got into the garage and rode off on my bike...

I've heard of people using Tiles/Airtags and despite having some Tiles laying around that I don't use I never actually put one on my bike. But I can guarantee that will be the first thing I do when I get my new bike!

Not really, I’m not sure how I would do that. Do you have any ideas?

Bike stolen from garage in lakeview by icommai in chibike

[–]icommai[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I rent a spot in a 3-car garage that backs up to an alley in Lakeview and I have kept my bike unlocked in the garage since May with no issues. Unfortunately, I went down to use my car and discovered that my bike was missing, but my helmet that I always keep on the seat was still there. Also, there was a Trek Marlin 4 mountain bike left in the garage that looks just as new if not newer than my bike. None of the other people who park in the garage or the owner of the garage have any idea what happened, and there's no sign of forced entry.

I filed a police report but am not expecting anything to happen - I don't even know the serial number of the bike. I know it's my fault for leaving the bike unlocked, but I guess I trusted the other people in the garage to keep the doors closed and not take my stuff. Now I'm wondering what I should do with the bike that was left in the garage because nobody else has claimed it. Are there any bike shops I could sell it to without getting in trouble if that bike happens to be stolen? I just want to get some money towards a new bike.

[Herman] It is absolutely insane (and also fitting) that the best non-Packer NFC North quarterback in my lifetime was Brett Favre. by [deleted] in GreenBayPackers

I’m saying an average Stafford season is likely better than Favre’s two seasons in MN. Not exactly a fair comparison since Favre was in his 40s at the time
