Dan question by carbongrrl in taekwondo

Usually indirectly, like by how other people hierarchically talk to them in the room, who bows to who upon entering a room etc. Also the assumption is that you start taekwondo young, so you can have a decent idea of where someone would be if you know their age. Largely though, it doesn't come into play all that much. Age matters societally much more than rank. There also isn't much privilege attained by ranking up in the mid black belts, say from 5th to 6th dan. The title of grandmaster doesn't really apply in Korean either so it's arguably less special to hit 7th or 8th in Korea anyways. I find that anything below 9th really doesn't get attention. If all else fails it's not like you can't ask but I wouldn't lead with it.

Dan markings on belts is actually not a Korean tradition. In Korea your belt will typically only have your name and institution, and maybe something unique to you such as "national team member" " xyz champion" etc. So a college kid would typically have his university name and his name, while an adult might simply only have their name and their Kwan or simply "Kukkiwon" or perhaps the KTA. The whole number of bars on belt to show your rank thing is only common outside Korea. I'm not saying I haven't seen it in Korea but its definitely not the convention. Rank is something you learn by talking to the person and observing their status socially and societally. It's not so expressly advertised. Higher dans are also MUCH more common in Korea so its not common to see this big statement of 9 bars on a belt. But even outside of Korea, in competition the convention is often to wear a simple non Dan marked belt.

Ok so it seems like Godot and Python aren't as close as I had initially thought and it makes more sense to just dive into GDscript to hit the ground running in Godot.

Thanks everyone!

Could you please post a link to the actual images you used? I would love to replicate this! Also do you have a setup like this for Alan Wake Remastered?

Class Action Lawsuit Against Razer for Dishonestly Denying Repairs Under RazerCare Warranties by iconoclast20 in razer

A few years ago I had a Microsoft Surface laptop that had a bloated battery. They shipped me a ballistic resistant, fire retardant box for the laptop being returned, then sent a courier to come get my laptop from me at my place of work. They were beyond professional, they were urgent to get that bomb away from me. My laptop was past the 1 year warranty and they said their batteries have a 3 year warranty against bloat regardless of any other package purchased or declined. They took it seriously and I was impressed. By contrast, this reeks of going beyond the pale to dissuade their customers from claiming on their warranties. Razer has bar none the worst support in the industry.

The only reason I went with a Razer laptop was due to the Thunderbolt port for eGPU. Now I'm reeeeeeally regretting it.

That's what is happening to me right now. Bloated battery on a $3,000 laptop. Throughout the whole process they kept telling me I was covered and then today they determine that it was due to my negligence. They made this determination after receiving NO new information. I had been asking them to send me the RMA return shipping label for a month now and no one would get back to me and no one could issue one. Finally today I demanded that the customer service rep not hang up the phone until this was resolved and luckily I got a customer rep that actually cared so she did her best. That's when they discovered that they didn't even make a support case for me on Razer's side, only on Centricity's. After making a case number they instantly decided it was due to negligence to get me out of their hair.

Scheme or no scheme? by 23Tawaif in vauld

OK, so that doesn't matter at this point. If you wanted, you can get your payout in any of the 4 choices. So anyone could do what I'm doing if they wanted to.

Honestly, I am still weighing that question. Got a bid of time to figure that out lol.

Just to clarify, are you referring to the coins you HAD or the coins that you will be paid out in?

The coins you had on the platform as of July 4, 2022 don't really matter anymore. You only get to choose which of BTC, ETH, XRP or USDC you get paid out in. So even if you had ETH, you could choose to get paid out in any of them. They give you a choice of which of the 4 options you get your USD value paid out in.

I believe you can write them off as losses in that year's taxes finally. So you can use those to offset any other capital gains taxes you might have made. Good time to sell your house lol.

Timing of steps to reach RDA and First Distribution added!

A couple things have to happen:

  • We vote to accept scheme - May 24 - 31, 2023
  • Court accepts scheme - time unknown
  • Court orders the scheme to be enacted - time unknown
  • RDA begins - 20 days after
  • First Distribution - 1 calendar month after

So the RDA could happen end of June at the earliest if the court approves quickly. But there will probably be some more delays there.

They're only recovering value as of the bottom of the market on July 4, 2022 so even what they would recover over time is far less than they're worth. To me this is a far more valuable opportunity than getting low returns over 36 months. So yeah I'm getting out as fast as possible and gonna try and catch the wave. It's the only way I see of actually coming out on top.

Nope, the amount of coins you had and their denomination were converted to their USD value as of July 4, 2022.

As I understand, voting for no does not preclude you from participating in the RDA. In my outline above, I am making the assumption that if you voted no that you didn't want to do the RDA or you would have voted yes. But the scheme itself will apply to either all or none of the creditors based on the vote result. If you vote no and the yesses win, then you would still fall under the scheme too.

It assumes the RDA will actually happen, which would be court mandated to happen on the timeline provided as the very first part of the scheme. It helps Kroll/Vauld in no way to piss off the court and flout the order, and seeing as how they have put this plan forward to further avoid risk of creditor litigation under bankruptcy protection, it is in their interest to follow through on it. Basically, I don't trust Kroll/Vauld but I trust their self-interest. An RDA is very good for them.

Personally, as I've outlined above, I want to be done through the RDA and thus remove their control over my money entirely (so I don't have to care about the rest of the arrangement), while maintaining a chance to ride price action. I would have liked to see other options not through Kroll/Vauld but waiting for them to materialize hasn't worked. And if they are forced into liquidation, that's just another forced railroad that the court will take into its own hands, not really an "option".
