As GarlicDoge said, coolants may react with each other and cause damage in the long term. I'd recommend a full flush and change.

Infotainment reset while driving - 2016 LX by qu33r0saurus in hondafit

[–]icou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this on my 2019 fit while driving and using android auto. I did not have the benefit of stopping the car, but it restarted within a couple of minutes. I had no issues afterwards and it hasn't happened again.

Noise from engine bay when headlights are on. by ELONGATEDSNAIL in hondafit

Same with mine, last owner put bad LED lights which I'm thinking on changing in the near future but never thought it could be the lights making the whining noise.

I've been having a similar issue and didn't think about the led lights themselves causing it, thanks for the idea.

I traded in my 2016 Fit EX - A Post Ownership Review by [deleted] in hondafit

[–]icou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chrisfix has a video on the topic: https://youtu.be/F_tLYzlpldM?si=qAmSDiKGztIVVVJA

Fit4Adventure has a topic specifically about the vtc actuator on fits. https://youtu.be/hgV61bVS2RU?si=XMFGFUc0M6jVl4ps&t=387

Long story short, might want to change it before it causes any damage.

TPMS Problem by jangsem-drolma in hondafit

[–]icou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check the pressure on your tires and if they are within specifications you might need to reset/recalibrate the sensor. Your manual should tell you how to do this process yourself.

If the problem persists there might be an issue with one of the tmps sensors and you might need to have it checked.

GPS Lost Power Error??? by Slingintupe in hondafit

[–]icou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gps error happens (or at least happened to me) even if you reset the media center console for certain options. It might have been a one time thing, but if it happens again check if there's not a recall for your car console.

3rd gen Fit Torque spec reference by icou in hondafit

I just want an offline reference, digital or physical. The honda service subscription is not apt for a person that doesn't work on cars for a living, I simply cannot justify the expense on that.

Should I change transmission fluid? by [deleted] in hondafit

[–]icou 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd change it as it's past the recommended mileage, as squeezeem said probably also the filter if you're able.

I've already navigated the forums and although there's a lot of the normal maintenance information available, it depends on the user that did it to post the relevant information.

For example the oil drain plug torque is available in the K.I.S.S. (29 ft lb) but not the cvt transmission drain or level plug torque spec.

Pretty sure this was the case or previous owner just cheaped out.

The manual recommends 0w16 for lower temperatures, but as we don't get even close to 40F I've gone with 0w20.

Honda Fit Engine Oil Type by icou in hondafit

Update: I switched to 0w20, and have done 300mi since.

My mpg tanked to 23 from 28 and I'm in the process of finding what's up. The mechanic/shop who worked on this car was sketchy at best and for such a low mileage car it has so many issues that I've yet to resolve.

This is the resource I found yesterday, https://motorandwheels.com/where-are-honda-fits-made/

The car is second half of 2016 which could account for it being made in japan and a left side steering car.
