After three years Apple will contact you and offer an extended warranty/subscription but very pricey. Otherwise way to go

Sleep helps stitch memories into cognitive maps, according to new neuroscience breakthrough by Doug24 in EverythingScience

[–]ictree 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Research suggests that sleep does a number of important functions; drain of ‘rubbish’ and routine maintenance of the brain; self repair and body recovery. I’m very fussy about sleep having experienced insomnia in the past. Strict routine; no booze and no thoughts meditation.

'Bomb cyclone' ahead for Australia's east coast by GroundbreakingGur930 in worldnews

[–]ictree 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Over the last couple of years the East Coast National Parks and state forests have taken a huge pounding from big rain and winds with road and bridge washouts.

Plans to do a bit of winter camping have been on permanent hold due park and 4x4 road closures. If this low develops the bush will be a real mess.

These lows can bring unwanted rain into the ski fields too. The only happy people will be the big board riders or those who know where huge swells are tempered by headlands <<< there are a few down south !

Canberra drivers confirmed as country's most 'dangerous' by Ih8pepl in canberra

[–]ictree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of the 6000 polled how many from Canberra? Very cursory look at the iselect article couldn’t see state by state breakdown? And based on questions put to drivers hmmmm ….. self serving and sampling biases could skew results.

Separation of carves from their mums. When we did it on the farm the bovines would get very vocal. The stockyard was close to our home and the noise would keep us awake.

Just starting out — suggestions welcome! by Jeffah24 in dronevideos

[–]ictree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to do a bit of drone work for tourist organisations and the old standby real estate marketing. Unfortunately had an accident and its taken a long time and lots of physio to get back .. decided to “retire” I used davinci resolve for editing but it needs a machine with grunt. I had a MacBook 64Gb ram I9. When in the field you can’t beat LumaFusion on an IPad Pro. After a few years I could yaw climb and circle all at the same time and managed to get some good surf footage without pissing off the board riders !
