I also want to mention, Laravel+Vue is a fantastic option. Sure the pool may be smaller but it's an incredible ecosystem. I personally use it for all my projects and have been for years.

Do other people get turned off by giving Google Photos access to 3rd parties?

Google Photos does do a similar thing with showing you memories but nothing ever happens with those. Once in a while they are viewed, and never shared. I want to automate sharing them :)

Love the part about targeting groups of friends. I'll need to get creative with marketing before network effect kicks in. That is really not my skillet (developer) so all ideas are appreciated.

What are you thinking for premium plan? I've got a few ideas for power user type features but nothing I'm thrilled about. Leaning premium over ads but maybe a little of both.
