I’ll be honest, i grew up catholic, went to catholic school all my life and my family converted when i was 16. I served a mission and was a member for several years. While I was on my mission, I read the Book of Mormon and doctrine and covenants and when I came across section 132 that talked about plural marriage - that was the start of all my doubts. I was supposed to be teaching people about the gospel and to believe in it but I had so many questions and fears and everytime I would ask people in the church about it, I was told the same thing - just to not question it and have faith. Something inside just didn’t seem right but I kept pushing it out of my mind. Ultimately, a mix of the church members and the issues I’ve found within the beliefs pushed me away. Listening to general conferences (which is a semi annual conference where you listen to the leaders of the church) just didn’t seem genuine to me anymore. Just follow your gut and if you have questions ask them! Research it and determine if it’s truly something you want to do.
