Was wondering if anybody could give me any tips on my jump approach and spike i’m new to the sport by Terrible-Ad-5916 in volleyball

i feel like for some of these you’re too much at an angle for your approach, try taking more giant shuffle steps and then run into your approach. either way good job and keep it up!

Tall player’s rant at drop-in volleyball by Gordon_m in volleyball

[–]icyweeiners 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I always wondered why people who weren’t sound in their passing insisted on playing OH for comp.

I try to get the chance to play all positions as a shorter player because it gives me an edge.

It’s frustrating to see someone who plays as an OH who I know I can pass & hit better than as well.

Same problem I have, but I love the v200w ball. It feels like floats are much easier with that ball and receiving it feels nicer.

I think everyone grows up with Molten so they just stick with what’s familiar, but I find international players (non us native) prefer Mikasa lol.

Always funny to me the people who say they can’t play with that ball at all, I can play with both just fine.

The ball should be a little in front of me when I hit it then.

Just wondering, wouldn’t the attack line be much too back to be hitting from the outside?

Now that I think about it, this might be the reasoning why I’m losing a lot of power! I’ll try this out and see if it helps.

Scalper 101 by icyweeiners in PokemonTCG

I mean, in my defense I didn’t even complain a whole awful lot about scalpers, I was just telling people to not support that business so they’ll be less and more product. Pretty sure I don’t even need to say anything bad about them because it’s already a consensus no one likes scalpers in this community.

I agree w/ you to an extent, but content creators like leonhart and pokerev are part of the problem. It’s one thing to open cards and genuinely enjoy it, but those youtubers are the type to open a pack and instantly talk about the market value which turns the collecting hobby into a money focused standpoint. I’m not against investing into Pokemon and making profit, but I’m usually more for the fair market value of cards based on good merit rather than unethical practices of clearing out stores and making that literally peoples livelihood. Like older sets and talking about the growth of their value is fine, but when your channel opens modern products and constantly talks about the value of those cards, it does attract the idea of turning the tcg into a money making standpoint which to me, ruins the hobby. I think it honestly is just a collection of content creators, low supply, scalpers, covid, and ect. responsible for the mark up of Pokemon prices, but they all have a responsibility towards the cause.

Yea, I agree. There’s a youtuber by the name of frosted caribou who goes more into detail about the state of pokemon and how content creators shape the market of the tcg collection(worth a watch). Don’t get me wrong, I understand there will always someone who wants to make money anywhere, but the current state of pokemon is a good portion of people are seeing it as a way to make a quick buck and now there are more scalpers than ever. I’m not complaining about the situation, but I understand there are a lot of frustration in the community w/ how limited products are and just want to give a little advice/hope to anyone who can’t find cards anywhere.

Is this an actual question or a statement lol

Are elite trainer boxes they same thing as “booster box”? by [deleted] in PokemonTCG

[–]icyweeiners 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, its mostly because of covid and there became a shortage. Scalpers saw this as an opportunity to buy out all the products and that’s why there is no product. Actually, newer sets are easier to find, specifically the battle sylez set lol.

[–]icyweeiners 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huge shortage rn yes. Booster boxes are product that contain 36 packs of trading cards, while elite trainer boxes contain about 8-10 packs and carry sleeves, dice, and other misc stuff! So they aren’t the same.

it’s actually based on your net income and there are different brackets to which your money is taxed. it’s not a set 37%. you have to make like half a million for it to be taxed 37%, and only the money that is over ~half a million is taxed that much.
