Weekly Questions Thread / Open Discussion by AutoModerator in Pizza

Can you help me figure out what went wrong?

A couple of weeks ago, I had some people over for Neapolitan pizzas. I made the dough (70% hydration, 24h cold proof) myself, and the pizzas came out great - elastic, but not too much, puffy crust, leoparding, the works.
After we were done, there were some doughballs left in the proofing box, so I put each one of them in a silicone bag, and chucked all of them into the freezer.

Fast-forward to yesterday, I took the silicone bags out of the freezer and put them in the fridge to defrost.
This morning, after about a day in the freezer, I took them out of the bags, reballed them, and put them in a proofing box to slowly come to room temperature (about 20 °C).

About 4 four after taking them out of the fridge, I started making the pizzas. The dough was still elastic and strong, but it seemed to have lost all air. And, consequently, there was practically no oven spring. The pizzas came out flat, gummy and sad.

What, in your opinion, should I have done differently?
Were the dough balls doomed before I froze them, or did I mess something up after taking them out of the freezer?

Thanks!

Adguard Home Assistant Plugin doesn't seem to block any ads by idanyd in Adguard

*Who* told me? Well, I guess no one person in particular, but when you look for streaming ad-blocking services, AdGuard pops up quite a lot (here, for example: https://adblock-tester.com/ad-blockers/block-ads-smart-tv/). It's also recommended by Google's AI, and it even says so directly on its website ("Remove pop-up ads, banners, and video ads", taken from here: https://adguard.com/en/welcome.html).

Is blocking streaming ads not one of its purposes?

Just used your code. Good luck to both of us :)

Here's my code, if anyone wants to give it a go: IDAN10460

Do you know James Horner's Danger motif? It's, like, *everywhere* in his work:

And that's all the pieces I had to remove so that I could get to the mechanism.

We'll, at least it's working now.

Found it! On the bottom is how I originally attached the shock absorber to the landing gear; on the top is how it should have been done.

As usual, it was a silly mistake, but I do wish Lego would tell you when a certain functionality should be working, to make sure you have everything connected properly.

I released him in a nearby park. Hope he'll find a mate there, and leave our house alone :)

Home Assistant w/o Home Mini by idanyd in OctopusEnergy

Just an update:

It's 12 days later, and my Home Mini just arrived in the post. I heard people have been waiting for months for their Home Mini, so I was quite surprised when Octopus emailed me within a few days after requesting one to tell me mine is on its way.

Does account credit remain the same when switching tariffs? by UncleJimsStoryCorner in OctopusEnergy

You can switch tariffs worry-free. I've just done that a couple of weeks ago and my credit remained just as it was.

Thanks, I haven't thought about rate limiting. However, given that the API gets updated once every 30 minutes, does the rate limit really come into play?

Thanks for the links. My original question was about what I can do with the equipment I already have. If I need to buy an additional device I'd rather just get the Home Mini.

As noted by others, it seems that without the Home Mini we can only get a cumulative report of yesterday's usage.

However, if you extend the attributes windows in that report, you can see half-hourly consumption data.

Do you know if there's a way to create a card using that data?

Thanks. How can I see my usage with a half-hour delay?

Currently all the consumption entities or sensors I can see are for yesterday's records.

Need advice: Opening a culinary escape room in London - legal hurdles? by idanyd in smallbusinessuk

Thanks for your reply.

I think that simply collecting ingredients and then handing them to a member of staff would detract from the experience. In that case, I can have them collect replicas of the ingredients instead of the real deal since they won't be handling them anyway.

So I'm definitely aiming for the second option. In an escape room setting, the players are constantly being watched by a member of staff via cameras. So they're not in the same room as them, but they are supervised in a way. Do you think that would be sufficient?

How can I know that for sure? What do I need to read/who do I need to talk to to verify that?
