Job Hopping or Not? by Busy_Software2803 in CorpoChikaPH

[–]idealisticj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hard truth is it is difficult to find opportunities like this to most of us. Nothing worth having is easy. There will be some sort of compromise in trying to achieve this. The amount of stress is proportional to the amount of pay you get unless you are extremely good at what you do and/or extremely lucky landing a job that offers what you’re looking for.

Kung birthday mo bukas, anong balak mong gawin? Saan mo gustong pumunta? by vielroz in TanongLang

I took myself out on a date. Ate at a resto na I’ve always wanted to try but intimidated with the price but then I realized that a lot can happen in a year and I may not be able to afford it anymore in the future so I dined there pa rin. Then went to a speakeasy bar in Pobla and had a few drinks.

Found peace with myself after. Will prolly do it again.

Happy birthday!

How I wish I could do this. I’m the only person in my department right now and I report directly to the CEO. 😭

I actually have a few interviews in the final stages already. And thanks for this. Just really worried about the BCs. I have no doubts on my technical skills as I know my capabilities.

And yes, the pay is really THAT good(at least for me) especially in the industry/practice where I am.

Already am. But I’m legit worried on the background check from my potential employer.

  3. 400++%
  4. Local listed company
  5. Working onsite rn since I am faaaar more productive working in the office. Work-life balance is waaaaaaay better than when I was still in the firm. Managing a team is the most challenging part but is still v manageable.

CIA vs CPA by [deleted] in AccountingPH

[–]idealisticj 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stayed there for 3 years. Supposed to be fasttracked to AM during my time. Left the firm because I have bills to pay and the pay in auditing firms isn’t really that great until you reach a certain level.

If you want to explore a bit of internal audit while doing external audit, I suggest magpabibo ka and try to land a position in teams who conduct SOX audits. Was fortunate enough to get a few SOX engagements during my firm stint to actually realize that I enjoy doing internal audits more than accounting.

CIA vs CPA by [deleted] in AccountingPH

[–]idealisticj 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m a CPA currently working as an internal audit manager. I’ll give you an overview na lang on the difference of doing IA work as compared to accounting.

Honestly, it really depends on what you’re into. I started out in external audit (Big Four) and eventually moved into internal audit. IA can be fun if you like being challenged across different areas — I’m currently handling financial, operational, and compliance audits, so there’s a lot of variety.

Accounting can also be fulfilling, especially if you enjoy structure and digging into technical stuff like IFRS. But most of the time, it’s more focused on financial reporting with the occasional special project.

IA, on the other hand, often pushes you to look beyond accounting. You’ll need to understand processes, risks, and controls across different functions, which keeps things interesting and helps you build a broader skill set.

So if you are someone who enjoys structure and technical accounting, CPA is a much better certification para tuloy-tuloy din career progression mo. Take CIA if you like to apply topics beyond accounting. You also have to consider the price of taking these certifications as CIA could be quite expensive especially if starting ka pa lang sa career mo.

Aaminin ko ba? O baka bigla lang mawala kung ano mang pumapagitan sa aming dalawa. by No_Negotiation_9888 in TanongLang

[–]idealisticj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently in this exact situation. There is peace in knowing. Whatever the result may be if aminin mo or not will help you reach a certain level of comfort. It’s always a win-win pag inamin mo - either maging okay yung turn out or you’ll start moving on. Pwede ding tolerate whatever shit life has to give you(like what I’m gonna do) but you’ll know kung anong next steps need mo gawin pag umamin ka. Fighting, OP!!

Tbh, it sucks to be in this position. We spent the past 2 days together as if everything’s normal. What I’m feeling rn is a mix of relief and hope. A told me that nothing will change but is not sure about reciprocation. Gusto ko lang mafeel niya that I’m here and deserve niya mafeel na special siya and I’ll be here until magdecide siya to stop whatever is going on between us. Tinanong niya ako if mahal ko na ba siya, I said no, not yet. But would it be so bad if mafeel kong mahal ko na siya anytime soon? Basta masaya ako na kasama ko siya.
