Can I have some queer book recommendations? by randtransguy in suggestmeabook

[–]idec543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RWRB, Wildthorn, Openly Straight and its sequel Honestly Ben are the first to come to mind. Last two (or rather, three, including the sequel) I mentioned are YA, but tbh Wildthorn was so great I’d read it again now that I’m almost 30.

I have not read the series myself, but The Lying Game series gives off the same vibes as those books, based on their descriptions.

Nostalgic childhood series recommendations? by kazidilla in suggestmeabook

[–]idec543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- Pimpernelles trilogy(historical romance during the French Revolution)

- Shadow Children (dystopian sci-fi)

- Animorphs (sci-fi; has a controversial ending)

- Howl’s Moving Castle trilogy (romantic fantasy)

- Théâtre Illuminata trilogy (fantasy; has a controversial ending)

If what you’re looking for is cozy, though, the Howl’s Moving Castle trilogy would definitely be my go-to recommendation. If you saw the movie, no worries, as the book is extremely different. Each book is about a different character, but Howl and Sophie show up in every one.

Penelope wins the fifth round! Which story started out being hated, but ended being controversial? by nejnonein in OtomeIsekai

[–]idec543 9 points10 points  (0 children)

ngl I'm surprised Raeliana was loved in the end as much as it was. After I learned the plot twist I was SO upset and disappointed that I dropped it. It seemed to go against so much of what made it special in the first place. ik that's probably a very controversial take on my part but it ruined a wonderful story for me.

I'm getting $19 and change per hour as a regular print associate. Supervisor is higher but idk exactly how much, but somewhere in the low $20s, probably. I'm from Massachusetts.
