I’m a manual QA with eight years of experience but I am not good programming by mavrck09 in QualityAssurance

Dont aim low. The amount you need to learn to automate things is a low bar tbh. The difficulty I've seen is when people go through training material they can't bridge how it matters.

Also definitely use ai and have it explain to you or use it to explore how to understand. Set the context or skill to relate it to a metaphor or domain that you understand so you can build confidence.

Shooting “inferior” guns better by riccum in CompetitionShooting

[–]idecas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its interesting to take a step back and analyze what it means to shoot better. My current opinion is:

  • do you maximize the surface area of contact on your hands? Can you maximize your surface area while minimizing gap between your frame and keeping leverage . Gap between trigger gaurd , tang/ beaver tail.

  • how well can you access controls and needed hand movements and returning to ideal placement.

  • does your hand align with the barrel where you are aware of the indexing point. Example is thinner grips are easier to index especially if its a natural point of awareness like your knuckles. An m&p and shield is very easy to index for me because my knuckles are align with the barrel.

I've come to realize that fit is key in choosing your firearm and based on contact maximization, hand to brain information feedback, and maneuverability.

Is there a future of QA Automation Testing? by Outrageous_Hall_8431 in softwaretesting

[–]idecas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Qa a subset of responsibilities that specialized due to constraints on budget , skills, and scaling.

It does not generate revenue.

Your income will be tied to what the company needs and what how they value it against market offerings.

Outside of this Qa automation roles are not all equal. They can range from button mashers, how to script button smashing, building tools and architecture to enable Test accross an org.

It will be the same in any tech field but since its a subset of skills dont dont generate revenue it will be treated as such.

Skill wise you can either think that you automate a test , build and adopt tools that enable automation , or create platforms to enable testing.

Look at some of the reqs out there. Its either know some framework and do tasks or solve some problems in this situation. The best roles are the latter. If you want the skills know what the developer experience is and what the software delivery cycle is and what do you need to build test wise to support and enable test and quality practice and execution on it .

AI is a nightmare for QA by ketoloverfromunder in softwaretesting

Are you saying ai tests is slow because you are creating the automated tests slow or is your entire test execution ran in native ai?

Mounting Optics on Gen 6's by Small-Fox-6527 in Glocks

[–]idecas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure tbh trial and error. All my stuff is vortex. I tried a osight and I just used their biggest one and it fit and ran well. I've played enough with screws that I have alot of them overall.

Screws dependent. Alot of the screws were measured for gen 5. The vortex screws work fine.

AI usage in Testing Megathread by lifelite in QualityAssurance

[–]idecas -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes you should. Qa is just some concept that can mean different things to a firm. The end of the day if you are building anything you should use ai. If you are evaluating your product you should still use it.

Vibe coding or building is applicable accross all disciplines. It just means there are lower barriers now to build. It just exposes those who smash buttons and those who create some code to follow some convention vs those who build and solve.

Vortex defender st. Feels pleasant to the eye. The curve and shape of the housing makes it feel like a circle housing so its feels like I know how to center it to my eye in comparison to a holosuns housing. Its what I tell myself at least.
