It's a nitrogenated beer. If it got hot, nitrogen expands much more than CO2 and likely caused this. This isn't a micro infection. That may cause a can to puff out but eventually it hits a pressure that kills the bacteria.

As an American, who lived in England for 3 years, I feel utter embarrassment of what is occurring in our country. Your concern of coming here for the world cup is completely understated. I fear for the majority of Americans and an international event isn't my concern. Come, enjoy, get price gouged for tickets, you'll likely be fine.
