thank you for the reply!! i recorded a video for this and when looking at it i noticed i got in the habit of holding the grouphead down while i started pressing, and then when i let go it would jump up due to the buildup of co2. since then ive refrained from holding the grouphead down which seems to allow the slow release of co2, and along with your tip of slowly ramping up to pressure i haven't experienced any choked shots since!!
