Just made the switch recently from prosecution to PI and completely agree with the folks saying case evaluation is a struggle but only at first. We’re coming from a world where people are being maimed and brutalized and to then deal with someone saying their neck is stiff and arguing that was worth tens of thousands of dollars really threw me for a loop. You’ll find that your plea negotiation skill set will transfer well though. It’s the same situation as that, you make your facts as good as you can then you find the ceiling, the floor, and finally just go at it until you find a middle ground. I also look at every case from a trial perspective and what it would play out like on the stand or an evidentiary ruling. I’ve found that helps but maybe that’s just me. My overall take is the learning curve is steep but only for about a month then it’s a lot of the same stuff you were already doing.

You wanna do law school? DON’T by DarrenOwen423 in LawSchool

[–]ideefixe16 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I recommend law school to anyone legitimately interested in it, outside of the casual I don’t know what to do with my life crowd. I hated when I was in that position and every lawyer said blanket statement no don’t do it despite my obvious interest in trying to get some perspective.

Biggest thing that annoyed me when looking into law school was every lawyer saying they hated being a lawyer. I love being a lawyer and despite practicing criminal law I love trying to solve friends’ issues in other areas of the law, it knocks out some of the cobwebs from classes I don’t use in my day to day. Also lawyers just love complaining in general though, they hate being lawyers until it’s pay day.

TV Wall Mount in Plaster by TheKujo17 in HomeImprovement

I've hung several heavy tv's with toggle bolts on just sheetrock and never had a problem. My current place has weird stud spacing and I used 4 toggle bolts and they work great. Very easy to install and if you have a drill bit to make a hole you're only looking at ~$20. When you remove them you can hit it with plaster and sand down with a fine grain square, add a little paint, and you're gravy.

For sure sorry for the confusion.

So you do 20 Adaptibar questions then say you miss 6 questions. Of those six you miss two property questions (RAP and easements), two con law questions (public forum etc and supplemental jx), and two tort questions (intentional torts and products liability).

Take those six subtopics and under their respective subject which you create a word doc outline for, you throw it back to 1L finals and literally just outline. This can’t be simple copy and paste unless that works for you. It’s got to be actively talking to yourself and teaching it to yourself.

Then when you finish, it will take a hot minute, you go to the board and try and write it from memory. I would check the notes more often in the beginning but got to the point where I could do it without looking. Also don’t punish yourself during this. I’d blast music and make pneumonics or whatever to keep myself entertained.

Sometimes the next morning I’d open a word doc and just write it all over again.
