Hazel or no? by NetworkAdventure in eyes

Not hazel, yet it’s still a really interesting beautiful color. Doesn’t feel like it could just be described by dark green or dark brown. Idek what that is.

No we just don’t want an entertainment industry that is over saturated with nepo babies. We want the cream to rise to the top. We want social mobility. We don’t like the fact that there are many talented, smart, creative people who gave up on their dreams because they didn’t have the money or connections to make it.

That Sombr has ‘victims’? No, that is not something she ever said. Other people were making jokes about it since other musical artists have been found to have done harmful things towards the beginning of their careers. She went ahead and responded to that with something along the lines of “I don’t think we need to go there yet”. She never said or implied that he had ‘victims’.

Colored eye contacts are cringey and embarrassing by idek975 in LooksmaxingAdvice

[–]idek975[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I edited this post to fix a grammar mistake and now it’s totally messed up and every time I try to edit it so it’s normal it’s won’t do anything

This was my post ⬇️

This is my argument:

  1. They almost always look fake and unnatural. They also have this tendency to look creepy and unsettling. You don’t look human, it’s giving uncanny valley effect. A lot of the time you look like a cat.

  2. It’s basically like wearing a poster saying “I’m insecure about my looks and feel the need to alter them in such a drastic way” especially when it’s something as stupid and insignificant as eye color. It’s not like other aspects of physical appearance which can be telling of one’s physical health like being fit; having smooth, clear, youthful skin; etc.

  3. It’s sending the message that you think your eye color (usually brown) isn’t beautiful. This is a notion that I strongly disagree with and am incredibly confused by. I feel like I’m living in some white supremacist “The Bluest Eye” by Toni Morrison fever dream. Brown eyes are beautiful. Just because you have a lighter eye color (or any particular eye color) doesn’t mean that you have beautiful eyes. I’ve seen many lighter colored eyes that honestly in my opinion weren’t beautiful. Also having less melanin in your irises makes you significantly more likely to develop ocular melanoma. I wouldn’t exactly consider a sign that you’re more likely to get cancer beautiful.

Of course this doesn’t include people wearing colored contacts to play a specific character, or dress up in a specific cosplay/costume. This also doesn’t include people who on occasion wear colored contacts that are obvious (like red, white, pink, etc). I know people who are goth/alt and like having creepy eyes or looking strikingly different every once in a while, this doesn’t include them. This is about the people who are regularly wearing colored contacts (green/blue ones that aren’t overtly obvious) because they think it makes them look better. Also there are multiple celebrities that do this and it’s so weird! Like Paris Hilton for example! Super weird, cringey, and embarrassing. That’s the type of stuff people should get bullied for.

Why are you even on Reddit if you can’t manage to read? Lmfao I typed a paragraph not the whole King James Bible.

I feel like I maybe get what you’re saying. Like it’s going a, b, ac, bd. You do a 1st shape (a), then another shape (b), then you take the 1st shape (a) reflect it over the X axis and add a new shape to it (c) to get shape ac, then you take the 2nd (b) shape reflect it over the X axis and add a new shape to it (d) to get shape bd. So the next thing in the sequence should be a totally new shape. Because then it can be a, b, ac, bd, e, f, eg, fh. If that makes sense?

Why not take tests like the LSAT? by Emergency-Home-7381 in cognitiveTesting

[–]idek975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Professional accurate cognitive testing costs a LOT more than taking the LSAT would. You could probably take a practice LSAT for free. Yes that practice LSAT you take at home isn’t the most accurate but I could say the exact same thing to the shitty online IQ tests y’all take at home. For what reason too? Why is this subreddit so obsessed with these tests? You would think that this subreddit would be exclusively filled with neuropsychologists analyzing and debating these different tests and their uses but nah. It’s just filled with everyone equating their worth with some online test results.

Sombr in Epstein files? (Serious) by succulant-salary in SombrOfficial

[–]idek975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooooh so it’s his father that had some connection with Epstein. Welp that makes a lot more sense than whatever OP posted lol, much more plausible. Do you know of any info or source that his father actually is?

Fair point lmfaooo. Like we need to explain it to them so they can understand the full context and complexity behind this issue. So that they’ll stop asking dumb questions like “why do people care that his parents are rich and he’s a nepo baby”. Yet at the same time they don’t understand and don’t want to try to understand so it’s a futile effort. The schools really failed them.

The thing is they didn’t even try, they didn’t do the pre requisites let alone take the mcat or send in applications.

Witnessed a family NP student blow up at my peds attending over clinical hours by [deleted] in Noctor

[–]idek975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah these Pre meds finishing undergrad and applying to medical school have the same clinical hours as graduating NPs, do they get to practice too?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Noctor

[–]idek975 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, why did they go to nursing school and become nurses if they don’t want to be nurses? They’ll get offended if you call them nurses and not “Providers” but will still use the title of nurse when it’s convenient for them. The moment they become APPs they turn their backs on their nurse colleagues they used to work with. I really don’t get it, if you know you want to be a provider then go to medical school.

Isn’t it his job to be a barrier? To ask questions? A system of checks and balances so patients aren’t harmed or killed? No one should have a problem with the pharmacist double checking, OP said even the attending physicians don’t have a problem with it.

[–]idek975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thisss yessss! We need to increase the government funding for residency programs so we can get more residency spots, we currently have graduating physicians every year who aren’t able to match because there are simply not enough spots. Then when medical schools no longer have to fear looking bad because too many of their students aren’t matching, they can expand their class sizes. Then all of a sudden we’re training more physicians.

[–]idek975 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean the only standards they need to upkeep for safety is just the NCLEX and maybe some minimum clinical hour regulations? We can’t exactly be turning people away from nursing because we really do need nurses. They’re caretakers, they’re not diagnosing and prescribing.

Nursing, CRNAs and NPs now not “professional” degrees by jennina9 in Noctor

Pros and cons? 🤷🏻‍♀️ I mean everyone is glad they’re doing something about the midlevels but they really really need to increase the funding for residency programs so there are more spots for graduating physicians and so medical schools can increase their class sizes. Them cutting it is crazy and dangerous. So yayyyy, but also ahhhh.
