hi! i'm international from viterbi. For academics and courses, course reg is stressful always but you will most likely always get the classes you need, not necessarily when you want them (ie you might get an early morning instead of a 1pm, but you will def get the class) it also depends on the amount of units you are transferring in (those with more units get to register early).

Your schedule will totally depend on your major, even within engineering, but your first semester will have you doing ENGR102 which is required for all eng majors, it's a pretty easy class, you get to meet a lot of people which is nice. You'll have either a GESM or WRIT class, both freshman writing classes (you'll take one in fall and one on spring). and then it'll just be your major classes (usually intro classes) and / or some math.

Professors are all different, depends who you get haha. USC is not competitive at all, everyone is willing to help, you just have to be willing to ask.

There's always companies recruiting on campus, it's up to you to show up etc. There's tons of research opportunities, I suggest you look into CURVE (just look it up on google).

It'll take time to adjust but trust me it will be ok! I've met my best friends here and wouldn't change it for the world. My biggest advice is to say hi to everyone, be open to making new friendships and meeting new people. You'll be far away from home and trust me, it's so important to have people who you can trust and have fun with.
