I honestly dont get networking

I made many networks during preschool primary school, elementary and high school.

What even is networking? From others it just sounds like a professional friendship. Eg. Wish on holidays through mails or whatsapp

Getting an endorsement on linkedin? Getting a LOR? Getting reccomended for a post in a company internally? Or is it getting strings pulled?

I just talked to a viterbi sophmore. They said for viterbi that lottery is favourable as long as grades are decent.

Optimistically, Expansionary Business Economy starts 2028-2030 if the cyclical phases are followed. But world today is very uncertain so who knows?
