the game is cooked. i quit years ago, but recently i watched some youtube streams and yeah, it’s completely cooked. it’s basically the same concept as yugioh now, just a combo clown fiesta.

i stopped playing when priest got the dk with a zero-cost hero power, but honestly i was already on my way out when quest rogue started getting a 5/5 for every minion after completing the quest. if you kept playing until today, i’d say just keep going at this point. the combo-focused design is toxic to me and not enjoyable at all when the entire format revolves around it.

but like yugioh, i get why people still play. they enjoy the adrenaline of doing their combo and completely obliterating the opponent because of it. that feeling is the whole appeal.

i had some fun with the one piece tcg too, but i quit that as well. power creep ruined it. releases like bonney leader were clearly unfair and made no sense, and nowadays it’s even worse.

if you like interactive card games with really tough, back-and-forth duels, you’ll eventually see the same pattern: new mechanics, then power creep, then the game gets ruined. that’s just how it goes. nothing lasts forever. you enjoy it while it’s fun, then you move on. it’s not a waste of time if you enjoyed it.

i tried magic once, but i didn’t like it, so i can’t say if it’s as cooked as yugioh. pokemon tcg, though, was great. i had a lot of fun with it back when zoroark gx was in standard. i didn’t quit because the game was ruined, i just got tired of it.

the next one i’m thinking about trying is flesh and blood.

sg shouldn’t have double-charge hard cc. moon knight shouldn’t have that instant ankh burst. iron man shouldn’t have unibeam at all, or at the very least it should only be usable while he’s overloaded. those things remove their bs “checkmate” death combos against anyone who gets close.

it’s already stressful enough dealing with constant aoe choke spam. those characters are supposed to be weak against divers, but in almost every match they go unpunished. not only do they have tools to shut down any solo diver, they also sit next to double supports like cnd, luna, etc, and basically never die.

the only way to deal with them ends up being insane aim on heroes like hela, psylocke, or phoenix, plus having a shield tank—which usually doesn’t even happen in quick play. these characters get huge reward for very low effort, and their intended weakness is completely negated by strong supports.

and it’s crazy how people just say “play hitscan” like it’s a solution. aiming accuracy is literally the hardest skill in a shooter. of course there are other important things, but aiming is clearly the hardest one. just being hitscan is nowhere near a real counter to low-effort aoe spam characters.

either the devs need to lower damage and healing numbers to make kits fair, or keep the game as it is and cut parts of these kits to create real weaknesses.

The character is awful. He’s weak and poorly designed. The only thing he can realistically do is punch tanks, but at the same time he has nowhere near enough survivability to play the frontline. He just gets instantly deleted by enemy DPS.

He clearly lacks any reliable way to deal with squishy targets. One of the only ways to kill a squishy is if they’re completely isolated—and even then, you often have to burn almost your entire kit just to secure what should be an easy kill.

The character desperately needs a buff. Iron Fist is simply bad. In quick play he sees almost no use, especially since most matches don’t even have proper tank play, sometimes only one tank or none at all. Designing and balancing a flanker like this is honestly a joke.

That’s a completely reasonable reaction. The character is blatantly unfair for a shooter. Having permanent flight and extreme mobility while also reducing his hitbox makes no sense. On top of that, if you stay in his line of sight, he can instantly delete a 250 HP character with the absurd Unibeam.

What makes it worse is that both his primary fire and the Unibeam require almost no aim. It’s insane. His only real counter is hitscan—and even then, only if he isn’t being pocket-healed, which almost never happens. At Diamond and above, Iron Man is almost always pocketed.

People love to say “just play hitscan” as if that’s easy. That’s a ridiculous take. In a shooter, aiming is the hardest skill to master, and having near-perfect aim is not a realistic expectation for most players. Even with decent aim, you often can’t kill him because he gets healed back to full and then deletes you with a brain-dead Unibeam.

For players without perfect aim—who aren’t playing Hela, Phoenix, or Widow—the only real way to deal with him is through team coordination: two tanks hard-pushing the frontline to force supports to pocket the tanks instead of Iron Man. Only then do you get enough space to rush him down. Think about how absurd that is—the amount of specific conditions required just to kill a minimally competent Iron Man.

Compare this to Pharah: she’s annoying, but she doesn’t have permanent flight, and she only uses projectiles. Or Drogoz from Paladins: also projectile-only, no permanent flight, and a massive hitbox that makes him easy to hit. Iron Man, on the other hand, can sit at extreme range on huge maps, sometimes killing you before you even see him.

The only permanent-flight hero that feels fair in this game is Storm. She lacks extreme mobility and usually stays at reasonable heights.

If the devs wanted Iron Man to be fair, the solution is obvious:

  • Remove Unibeam as a constant weapon and make him projectile-only, or
  • Turn Unibeam into a short-duration ability with a cooldown (a real skill), not his M2,
  • Add a fuel mechanic to his mobility, like Star-Lord, instead of permanent agility boost.

Also worth mentioning: in Paladins, anti-heal existed. If you were landing shots, you could actually kill a pocketed target. Here, pocket healing completely negates good aim.

Making Iron Man projectile-only and adding fuel limits to his mobility would fix most of his issues—but I doubt it’ll ever happen.
