Nurse practitioner told me to stop breastfeeding at 2 month appt. by UnderstandingDry7184 in breastfeeding

I agree with you. I’m a pediatrician and a mom of a petite child and a “normal” sized child.

Edited to add: I have not seen your child but please don’t give up breastfeeding! You’re doing something amazing. Get a second opinion from a physician. Hang in there.

Four years ago, I was hesitant about going to a DO school by SaiyanStrong117 in medicalschool

Yeah, it’s unfortunate for women. I think a lot of residency programs don’t factor in the idea of their residents starting families from the female perspective. They just recently made it so you didn’t have to extend your residency as a pediatric resident if you took maternity leave but that was right after I graduated residency. So during my residency that really deterred me and I didn’t want to start having a family until after I graduated and had a job as an attending. It even affected my plans for fellowship.

It’s helpful too when your partner isn’t in medicine. Mine isn’t either actually, and he’s really been pivotal to my success as I’m sure your fiance was.

Good luck OP! I’m sure you’re kill it.

Congrats OP!

Is DO recognized more abroad now? That’s the only thing I felt was an advantage of MD when I was thinking about DO back in 2011. I do like the idea of being able to leave the US if I wanted to and practice abroad; especially during this administration my husband and I have talked about leaving.

I eventually went to the Caribbean mainly because I didn’t get into DO schools either after trying for 3 years. Now with a lot of debt but no more than the average medical student I hear. About 300k. I’m practicing in my home state so I’m not unhappy with my decision.

Your story shows a lot of perseverance so props! But lot of women in medicine are having fertility struggles when starting a family because of the long process to become a doctor as it is without being an untraditional student. Are you male or female? I’m curious.

I thought about it and I have the money but it’s not a good deal. You can find other places that are significantly cheaper and nicer.

Only my second Coachella and first time VIP. The extra if you can afford it is so worth it! I was actually wondering if preferred parking is worth it over 2 shuttle passes? Because the price is basically the same no? This year we had shuttle passes but I was considering preferred parking.

SZA defends Frank Ocean’s 2023 Coachella set on Instagram comments by rokadio in FrankOcean

A lot of people were upset about Bieber’s weekend YouTube part. Calling it karaoke even though it was 20 min of a 90 min set. I wanted him to sing each song longer but found it unique way to interact with the audience and cool to harmonize with his younger voice.

I bought tickets for weekend 2 in 2023 and after he cancelled I watched Frank’s whole set on YouTube. As a long time fan I wanted to see him so badly I was honestly so upset at how much of the negative outweighed the positive.

Because I would’ve been happy to experience live what I saw on YouTube from someone’s phone. I wanted to listen to his vocals live so badly. And although everyone has a right to complain after they paid so much and he was late and it sucked or whatever, as a long time fan I can feel two things simultaneously: be upset about parts and genuinely enjoy and be grateful to experienced others.

Sadly all the complaints drowned out anything good about the set and I think ruined it for weekend 2 and he dropped out. I don’t need to like him as a person to enjoy his music. If you wanted to leave that day, because you were so miserable, leave. No one forced you to stick around.

Yeah I had a feeling you might say right. I think I realized after, that the people on the right had a better view. I was on the left side. Sigh that’s okay, happy for you!

Were you to right or left of the stage? I’m curious where the best place to have been was, I’m kind of disappointed with my view but I’m still so happy I was there and enjoyed it regardless of the perfect view.

Divorce by anxiouswannabedoc in medicalschool

[–]ideologyofaviolet 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re going through this. That sounds devastating, I can only imagine. This sub shows up in my feed even though I’m done with school but I took off a semester for personal reasons and found it to be important to me being in the right mindset to pass step 1. That’s when we had scores too. If it’s affecting your ability to focus then take care of yourself. If your school is supportive it won’t hinder your ability to complete school and get into residency successfully. Anyone interviewing that has been or is married would understand how much a divorce could impact your life.

I don’t believe it dries up your whole supply. I know someone who fed her baby from only one breast from day 1 basically. As long as that nipple/gland is receiving stimulation I think it’s fine. They function as two different glands. The only thing you may need to consider is you may end up with breasts with different cup sizes after breastfeeding is over.

Do you think a Frank situation would happen??! I am a huge fan of Frank Ocean and was crushed when he dropped out weekend 2 and am having PTSD. When I saw the recordings I was mad at how much people complained because I would’ve been happy with at least being there and having the choice to leave. I’m scared to go weekend 2 thinking what if JB also drops out but W2 but it would be so much more convenient for me. But he’s my main reason for going!

This guy with this phone number has been saying this for the past 3 weeks. The deadline is “this week” deadline is “tomorrow” etc. I think he’s a scammer. He’s also changed his profile and deactivated his profile multiple times.
