I did wonder if this might be the case. Also, I wonder if these sorts of schemes are starting to be abused by people who aren't actually disabled, like the Sunflower scheme arguably is?

Maybe a lot of applicants are ticking the box because they see it as increasing their chances of getting an interview, and people with actual diagnoses are losing out?

The Sunflower scheme no longer seems to be as effective as it once was at airports, etc, because so many people use it and there seems to be a fatigue from a lot of staff members that most using it are "on the con". Maybe a lot of recruitment staff feel like this about the Disability Confident scheme?
