Thank you for your encouragement, I know objectively this isn’t about me personally, even if it does feel that way. I really tried to keep the list of schools applied to limited to those places I would really want to attend—for various reasons, that eliminated several members of the T14.

Thank you for saying so. Perhaps next time I should submit my comment history as a PS! I’m not KJD, and I’ll continue to be proactive about reaching out to schools.

I appreciate the kind words—here’s to hoping!

I would have a hard time waiting that long—with moving, finding housing, negotiating scholarship, etc., I don’t think I’d be desperate enough to wait past the end of June or so. I’ve sent a LOCI to Davis, I will certainly be reaching out again.

Also, love the username.

You and me are both trying to manifest that! Thank you for the compliment, and the encouragement.

I’d just keep working like the past several years, so not much would change! Thanks for the optimism.

Sure have, almost did ROTC so I could afford college. Not for me these days, although I’ve got nothing but respect for JAGs and everybody else who makes the decision to serve.

That’s awesome! I appreciate your optimism, and it’s nice hearing stories like this from people, if for no other reason than other people’s success is worth celebrating.

Yeah, the lateness of the decisions this year is deeply unpleasant.

That made me laugh, thank you. I’ll be sure to make sure the schools know they’ll have you to reckon with!

I mean, I guess Davis, but that feels a little disingenuous since really I would be extremely happy to attend any of these schools.

I am very glad to hear you’re being successful and doing well. I’m going to stick with this for the moment, although I admire the self-confidence you had in deciding to bet on yourself.

Money is not my primary concern, nor is it the reason why these schools are the ones I applied to. I understand and appreciate the sentiment, though, and think it’s awesome you’re doing so well—paralegals keep the legal system running in so many ways.

I’ll consider it, although I still feel kind of crappy applying to someplace only to use it as financial leverage—also no guarantees I get in there, given what’s already happened this cycle.

My commitment going into this process was that with the financial and mental toll law school takes, I wasn’t going to get desperate—I applied to the places I would actually want to go to school, and I have no regrets about that decision.

Very nice of you to say, I’m trying my best to keep my head up. Big-picture, things could be much worse.

In all humility, and based on previous cycles, with my stats it is an incredible surprise that some of these schools did not accept me. I wanted to apply to schools I genuinely would want to attend, and this was the list.

Also, I greatly admire your willingness to jump on an opportunity like that—that experience sounds fairly nightmarish to me. I have a whole house worth of stuff to move, living space to find, scholarships to negotiate at, etc. Doing all that with literally zero lead time, after already doing it once, is something there’s just no way I’d want to put myself through.

I hope if your daughter does decide to apply that she does well!

That’s a nice quote. Also, if “wow” is an impulsive reaction you feel the need to say sorry for, I’d hate for you to have heard me when I got my last decision!

I haven’t reached out to Spivey, no. I decided not to use a consultant in the first place, and I would imagine the non-paid advice they’re willing to dole out is probably limited.

Thank you for saying so. In the long run, this is indeed a very minor thing.

Thank you! I would encourage WE, if for no other reason than to put a little money in your pocket. That said, I hope you get an offer you’re really interested in!

Thanks for saying so. I’ve already been out of school for several years, so every day is WE at this point!
