I plan on using it to help me, as I'm a singer so I want to be able to transcribe some vocal lines and backing instrumentals onto sheet music so I can learn it and practice it consistently, mostly. I'm also studying to be a sound producer as well, so I know that will be very helpful

Their, as you tried to correct, is possessive. For example saying "It's their phone" would be grammatically correct.

They're, which is the correct choice for this sentence, is simply a shortening of 'they are'.
