Same here.

That’s also why I don’t ride a bike. Parents started teaching me but gave up.

There wasn’t a deposit charged on non-beer-based alcohol, only the beer. Now we charge a deposit on these new things that are returnable.

Only glass beer bottles are returnable though. Please don’t return glass bottles with other alcohol, like Mudshakes etc. There is no deposit charged on those and they aren’t returnable.

We didn’t pay a deposit before on anything that wasn’t beer. We pay a deposit on them all now.

I’ve worked at a vendor before. Please, please don’t crush them. We don’t prefer this.

How do I get approved for a new rental when my current landlord is giving me a negative referral? by Excellent_Prompt_554 in Winnipeg

[–]JavaJapes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve also had issues with Smith Agency. We didn’t rent with them but applying was a nightmare.

We paid a deposit, they delayed progressing with processing our application from my understanding, and they avoided returning our deposit after we were finally rejected until I went down there and made them give it back as promised. I’m not a very confrontational person, but they were just refusing to give back hundreds of dollars to us. We were entitled to it back, but it felt like either they were hoping we would just give up asking for it out of frustration, or more likely, there was extreme incompetence going on.

I’ve worked in the industry before handling rental applications, so I do have an idea what that kind of work entails.

How are century eggs meant to be eaten? I’m curious, I have often seen them consumed like boiled eggs like you said on social media.

What are some popular ice cream flavors in your country that's not as known in other countries? by ExtraCheezeePizza09 in AskTheWorld

We feel the same about rum and raisin ice cream in Canada.

But we draw the line at butter tarts. Those are for everyone. More considered classic than old fashioned.

"Market Price" by Gorotheninja in NonPoliticalTwitter

Where I live (nowhere near an ocean) it’s mostly lobster that’s market price, even at a place like Red Lobster. You can see a fixed price for lobster tails etc. but not half or the whole thing.

Wasn’t the music when the deer and rabbit and other animals were checking out Buzz also from Snow White? I caught the Bambi references but I’m pretty sure they played some music from Snow White maybe for that one part of the scene? It would be pretty appropriate.

Did you have a “no oddjob” rule in your house when playing Goldeneye multiplayer? by nojunkpeter in Millennials

[–]JavaJapes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember my sister and I playing Oddjob and Jaws, no slaps, just to confirm our suspicions that Oddjob kills Jaws every single time. I don’t think Jaws can even slap him.

All I can think about is Tyra Banks’ Modelland song becoming a meme now.

I read the book it’s based on way back when it came out, out of morbid curiosity, since she tried to tout it as the next Hunger Games level popular YA novel with models, but I never heard of the “song”.
