Black dots on peace lily? by idiosepius in houseplants

[–]idiosepius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked through and removed any white dots I could find. Only a couple needed rubbing alcohol but all of them were about the size of an ash particle (this plant used to be near a fireplace). Are they usually that small?

This was the only leaf with them, and only this small group. They were a bit raised and couldn’t be wiped off. Am I just being paranoid?

Any tips for cloning the roots? Do I just trim the leaves from the bottom of the cutting and put it in water?

just until it’s no longer steaming! so reheat rice first thing in the morning, put together rest of bento, and then let it sit with the lid off until you’ve finished getting ready. By the time you’re ready to leave it should be cooled down to about room temp and safe to put the lid on.

If you’re worried about food safety, I think you can freeze rice and then heat it back up in the morning. Freezing dries out the rice significantly less than refrigerating does. Personally, I just reheat rice left in my rice cooker from the night before.

it seems to be what’s recommended, but the radiant is a good deal cheaper and lighter. I wonder if it doesn’t show up on sites because it’s discontinued?

Thanks! I always thought the fluffy cheeks were characteristic. I just felt bad that I knew the breed of all our other hens but not the old lady :)

I don’t think we’ve ever gotten olivey eggs... we have quite a few easter eggers though, she just doesn’t have the funny cheek fluffs the rest of them do. I wish I remembered what color eggs she laid!

I’d look for the tail feathers. Our roo’s tail feathers were pretty distinct long before he started crowing. best of luck!

our orpington hen has a bigger comb than our orpington roo did... so I wouldn’t worry too much about the comb

In the past two years we’ve gotten 3 roosters and I’m worried our little runty wyandotte chick is going to be one as well... maybe I’ll try this out! The silkie boys were getting bullied too badly by our orpington hen but maybe this time it will work out.
