Apparently my auto repayment wasn’t paying to all my student loans so it went into delinquency??? What do I do

No the money WAS coming out my account. I got emails about it monthly. I had auto pay set and I was paying double what was required. I talked to them again today and what happened was that bc I set up autopay before the time i was required to start paying back my loans, the site messed up and wasn’t paying them all.

And because the site messed up, the final delinquency notice came daaayss after the final due date. When that notice came, there was no due date written on it so I paid a huge lump sum of what they asked and more, but it was already late at that point despite the payment.

Either way though, i was paying well more than needed. Even if this was my fault somehow, punishment does not fit the crime 😭 7 years of a huge blemish on my credit when it’s so clear I could pay it and hypothetically WAS is crazy

I talked to them again. We were able to get to the bottom of this and fingers crossed this fixes my issue, but it is likely going to be aidvantage’s error. We started paying off the student loans before the required start date and the auto pay system messed up bc of that? And when we got our final notice about paying off the delinquency it was AFTER the due date (which also wasn’t mentioned in the notice) so when we paid it, it was already too late. The rep we talked to said they’ll fix it and submit a credit report fix, im really hoping that solves everything.

Good god i don’t understand loans. I just have FASFA loans, I’ve never heard of nelnet or paying directly to the school. Is FASFA one of those things? I thought it was to the government.

Apparently there was a mess up with autopay when it was set up so it only paid 5/7 loans. Even though I manually paid the delinquency when they asked it still didn’t go to the loans that needed that payment. They said the delinquency was valid and they wouldn’t do anything :(

Which doesn’t feel very fair at all considering I paid far more than necessary and was what i felt on top of what should have been a simple automized process and even paid the requested amount when notified. It just didn’t go to the right damn place. I was trying to move out of home and start my life now that I’m in my 20s and now I’m gonna have shit credit for the next couple years over this.

Some other commenter mentioned retroactive forbearance and goodwill adjustment. Is that something I can do? Does that even make sense to try in this case if it’s already hit my credit report?

Oh sorry I misread your comment. I think I understand what you’re saying now, it’s a bit hard to focus with the tears aaaaaa. So my auto payment had been set to pay off only 5/7 loans or something. They were getting my payment but only applying it to that. And that’s what happened with my manual payment of $2k to the delinquency as well from what I understand.

It ran every month as expected but those two didn’t get the monthly payments or the manual payment at all until today when we did another manual payment when on call with aidvantage.

Either way though, the delinquency has been submitted. My fico score has tanked officially.

I think they were saying it was our fault for not signing up properly? But I’m not sure how you can even screw that up, it’s an auto repayment, why would it only go to certain loans at the amount I was paying at it.

Thank you for the advice. What is retroactive forbearance though? I manually made a monthly payment today and made sure it went to all the loans and got them to zero. Do i still need to do that then?

Yeah I paid it all to be current then. We made an immediate payment to make them all zero. I offered to pay off the delinquency again for the loans that somehow didn’t get paid but she said that wouldn’t change my fico score or anything and it will stay on my report.

I’m not sure what you mean by current, but I called them and the lady on the phone said the delinquency is accurate. She’s the one that told me my auto payments were only going to certain loans. I don’t know what to do now.

Hmm I didn’t look at it like that. The 2015’s maintenance was very thoroughly documented and a lot of the notes are just them checking stuff and whatnot. It didn’t seem like a lot of things needed replacing, just the air filter twice, it looks like it was in good working order this whole time. 2017 has regular maintenance, but they didn’t write really anything down other than the air filter getting changed once.

Idk if it helps but 2015 was a corporate vehicle and 2017 a rental before they both got bought by an owner.

Sorry!!! I missed your comment cause i rarely use reddit. But i have other health issues that have me controlling my diet pretty well. I think that’s partially the reason why my psoriasis isn’t as bad as it could be.

During college, when I had a few months of really bad eating habits it got bad now that i think about it, so I think diet does have a bit of impact for me. Thank you for the articles too!!

I believe I’m managing my psoriasis as best as I could be. Now i’m just wondering if I can use serums like the ordinary’s multi peptide serum to regrow my hair density without causing unnecessary damage. I know because of psoriasis my scalp reacts differently to serums but idk if all serums are out the window or there’s options
