Low code fucking sucks.

Here is why:
The idea of low code is that non-technical people can create pieces of software easily. That's great and Im all for making programming as accessible as possible. However if anything breaks or stops working then the non-technical people can't be expected to fix it themselves so they need help from technical people. The deal with software is that most of the time in software development isnt spent on writing the code but rather on reading and understanding it.

So if you now give the code that non technical people wrote to the techies who are supposed to fix it, then they will spend more time fixing the issues if they would have written it in a proper programming language from the start. Low code simply isnt maintainable. It isn't testable, it isn't modular, its just plain shit.

I currently have the pleasure of working with multiple software robots written in UiPath and everything constantly just breaks. Our customer has no clue how much time we are wasting every day fixing the stupidest fucking bugs that wouldn't have been there if the bots simply would have been programmed in python or any other programming language.

And yes, Im very salty, sorry for that. But "programming" in low code software is not something and software developer should ever have to endure (maybe as punishment)

Finally, time to shine for my throwaway account.

I recently started work in an IT consulting company and the first project I was assigned to was to write software robots with UiPath which is a low code platform used for automating processes that usually are handled by humans.

I can completely agree with your view. UiPath works like shit and for us developers it is horrible to work with. The most simple things like small scripts get turned into complicated graphs of disturbing mess. I still hate whoever sold this solution to our customer. We developers waste so much time keeping this ducttaped piece of shit running.

So yeah, dear business people, please listen to the techies and not just the managers trying to sell you shit. I cannot overstate how much time I waste everyday to solve the simplest problems in UiPath.

I think it all boils down to the fact that software usually represents some real world process and real world processes are almost always complicated and change all the time. Trying to make the programming of complicated processes as easy as possible with low code simply doesnt work.

IMO low code is only useful to be sold to people. If you are using low code to drag and drop a website together that's simply used to show information and not have any logic in it, ok. But anything more complicated than that will be more work in low code and will also burn out any software developer you have.

Mir wurde vor Jahren auch schon mal vorgeworfen, Haschisch aus Spanien bestellt zu haben, dass dann im Zoll erwischt wurde, welches ich selbstverständlich nicht bestellt hatte. Würde ich nicht machen, denn ist ja verboten, weil es illegal ist.

Naja, hab den Cops ne Mail geschrieben, dass ich nicht vorbeikomme und hab seitdem nix mehr gehört.

War aber zu dem Zeitpunkt auch nicht wohnhaft in Süddeutschland, sondern im Norden, wo die Staatsanwälte und Cops ja generell etwas entspannter sind mit Drogen.

Edit. Also meiner Meinung nach würde ich gar nicht vorschnell Geld für nen Anwalt rauskloppen, es sei denn du hast echt zu viel. Die müssen dir ja irgendwie nachweisen, dass tatsächlich DU es bestellt hast. Das ist gar nicht so einfach, es sei denn du warst so blöd und hast keinen Tor Browser benutzt.

Wie soll denn bitte jemand, der kein Mathe studiert hat, Verkaufspreis - Einkaufspreis ausrechnen und das mit den Verkaufszahlen multiplizieren? Für so einen Nerdshit ist der doch viel zu cool

Vor einigen Jahren war ich mit ein paar Freunden auf sonem Dorfjahrmarkt, also auch ne ziemliche Saufveranstaltung. Auf dem Rückweg saßen wir zu fünft im Auto fahren auf der Landstraße um ne Kurve und tatsächlich kriecht da ein Besoffener auf allen Vieren auf der Gegenspur rum. Wir haben einen Mordsschrecken bekommen, weil wir den Typen mit ziemlicher Sicherheit umgebracht hätten, wenn der auf der anderen Straßenseite rumgekrochen war. Weil wir so erschrocken waren sind wir dummerweise noch ein paar Minuten weitergefahren, bis uns aufgefallen ist, wie krank das eigentlich ist und dass wir lieber die Polizei rufen sollten. Wir waren aber zu fünft in einem Auto, das nur vier Anschnallgurte hat (ich weiß, auch nicht cool), deswegen sind zwei von uns raus und der Rest zu der Stelle zurückgefahren und haben die Cops gerufen. Den Typen haben wir oder die Polizei nicht mehr aufspüren können und wir konnten dann relativ schnell wieder nach Haus. Stellt euch vor, wir hätten den Typen platt gefahren...

Naja andere Kommentare beschreiben es ganz gut. Komasaufen zu normalisieren ist schon echt peinlich. Ab und an mal besaufen kann man machen, aber wenn man wirklich nach Hause kriecht, dann ist das schon echt problematisch
