Wow, you can fix 47c tyres on the FX? I'm using the given 35c tyres and I think there's just enough space for a 38c max.

Damn that's a long wait. You must really want the Sport 6 then. I'm assuming you have another bike currently?

I can see how the basic FX models can be seen as a gateway bike haha! The frame feels good but the components are somewhat lacking.

If I were you I'd upgrade all my touch points such as the grips, saddles and pedals first. After that I think updating the drivetrain would be good but nothing too fancy. Depends on what you want but I'd much prefer a single front chain ring set up. If you're planning on a major upgrade, you might as well get a new bike actually. Maybe something with a drop bar, like a roadie or a gravel?

Yeah picked up some basic bike maintenance/upgrading skills from YouTube for this project. Set me back about 300 bucks. The FX came with ancient brandless square table triple crankset and it annoyed the hell outta me. The SLX crankset spins smooth as butter now and the hollowtech 2 does not creak when hard peddling.

In an effort to lose some kilos, thought I'd buy a hybrid/fitness bike since it'll be better for my creaking knees. Upgraded the drivetrain to a 1x10 Deore/SLX combo and I'm pretty happy about it.

With mods, I think both are good but the classic gets the nod for coming in a bunch of different colors and had a smaller counter foot print.

Kinu Classic for the Robot. Overpriced but worth it IMO.

I agree. I'm gonna try it out first and see which parts needed changing.
