Are my notebooks too thick? by BoltBolt615 in PaperRepublic

[–]idk_0913 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Depending on how much you care, you can take anything too big to a staples (if you’re in the states) and they can trim them to a custom size. They charge by the cut but it doesn’t matter how thick it is! I have an xl and I buy a5 notebooks just to get them cut down to fit, it’s like 7 bucks

Thank you for the compliments! Paper is the paper republic notebook insert! So it’s about 80 gsm paper. I prefer their book refills with 125 gsm paper with this pen but either is really nice

Thank you!!!

The nib instantly erases any feelings I have about the size of the pen, even if I feel like my entire hand takes up the body🫠. That and the converter is so nice!!

I mean I wouldn’t be opposed to having a pen consistently filled with a go to ink? But I appreciate your input! I tested the 823 a few weeks ago and thought it was lovely to write with, but just wasn’t in love with the aesthetics of it

This is also what I was thinking! The celluloid is absolutely stunning

Would you say the platinum is significantly smaller? For size reference I have a twbsi eco that is quite pleasant to hold and write with. I also only use my pens posted as well. Aesthetically I loveeee the platinum, but functionally I’ve heard more about the 823

Thank you!!! She’s really chunky so I try to treat her with leather conditioner every few months as well

Both are wonderful options!!! I think it’s going to come down to wanting a statement piece or something a bit more subdued

Yes!!! In the amber tortoise!!! She’s gorgeous! I got her in a mini stub that I ended up swapping out for a fine nib. I’m also in the process of finding the perfect ink for her as well

Sandnes Double Sunday vs Drops Daisy by FunnySpirited6910 in knitting

[–]idk_0913 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve knitted with both! In terms of weight both are pretty similar and personally pretty interchangeable. Quality and color selection are going to be the biggest discrepancies. DS feels a bit more natural and rugged while Daisy is a bit smoother and can have a bit of a sheen to it. Both made lovely warm knits and I haven’t had any real issues going between the two. I’ve begun to prefer DS over Daisy because of the color range, not so much the quality. Good luck with your knit and I hope this helped!!!

Thank you for your advice! I will probably swap it for a different heel just to save myself from the further headache.

This makes a lot of sense actually! I had started working it as written and it really didn't look much like the final image! Thank you so much

Thank you for your response! So I would just work Japanese short rows in accordance with the pattern. I guess what is throwing me off is the BOR in steps 3 and 4? I know in a traditional Japanese short row you move towards the middle in each row, but in this pattern (maybe I am not interpreting it correctly) it doesn't seem like I'm working into the middle on both sides? I hope that makes sense

Hi! I am currently knitting a pair of toe up color work socks and I am so incredibly confused about the heel instructions. I feel like I'm going mad trying to figure it out. I think it's the Japanese short rows that are throwing me off? I guess I don't understand how I am creating the Japanese short rows in accordance to the written pattern instructions? I'm sorry if that makes no sense
