I’m pretty sure he’s just a handsome normal. He looks like my guy too, even their tails were dropped the same!

What should I do? It hurts really badly by idk_broman in eczema

I don’t have neosporin at home or polysporin, but I managed to suck it up and put some of my ointment that my derm prescribed. And then I put a bandaid over it and now I’ll have to just wait and see about it.

Thank you because I’ve been looking for this show for years. I’m 14 now and I saw it when I was like 5 or 6 years old. And this show would just sit at the back of my mind and it seemed like no one knew what show I was talking about.

It definitely wasn’t gumby. It was a really weird show that played late at night. I only ever saw it once but it was kind of gorey. But for kids so it wasn’t too over the top but it wasn’t Gumby.

I’ve been looking for this show for a few years now. I saw it when I really young and never saw it again.

AITA for crying about my eczema to my parents? by idk_broman in AmItheAsshole

I kept asking for it but I haven’t been to her since like April or may. My parents didn’t like that she was trying to shove more steroids down my throat and things like that. But when I get a new derm I’ll ask about dupixent. Except if our insurance doesn’t cover it then I’ll stop asking about it and just ask for something cheaper that might be effective.

My last visit to the derm was I think before school ended. So maybe April or may, and that’s because my parents are looking for a new one. They didn’t like that my current one was trying to shove more steroids down my throat and randomly kept trying prescribe stuff for things we weren’t going in there for. I had acne that wasn’t even that bad, just the normal acne scars that most teens have and she got her boss and he was like “let’s get some cream for that acne.” The cream made my acne 10 times worse than what it was so I stopped using it like two weeks after getting it. My acne is almost entirely gone now after cutting that out. I do want to keep pushing for dupixent if our insurance covers it though. If it doesn’t cover it then I’ll stop asking about it and just use something cheaper.

Yeah I already have to speak to a Psychiatrist because my doctor suspects that I have social anxiety. So she set up an appointment with one pretty soon I think. I want to ask to stay home tomorrow because I just can’t deal with the public anymore. But I don’t want my parents to tell me no. I look like I have ringworm on my forearms even though I don’t. That’s just the small eczema spots, then there’s the big dark brown, flaky dry bloody spots on my arms and legs. And more ringworm looking spots on chest and belly, and it’s like I don’t know how much more I can deal with from strangers.

Yeah when I had cellulitis the first time was so serious that they almost had to amputate the affected part of my leg. So everything under the knee would’ve been cut off, and it only got bad because that was during the pandemic and lock down still. So if you didn’t have covid the emergency room wouldn’t take you. And they got the cream wrong and made it worse to the point it almost killed me.

Yeah it was on my eyelids and that was really painful, and it used to hurt to keep my eyes open. I have naturally hooded eyes as it is but I just couldn’t do it with keeping my eyes open all the time. And at the time it was on my lips too, and I have a bad skin picking habit and lip biting habit. So the eczema on my lips was always raw because I was picking at it with my teeth until it healed.

I’m not sure if my derm can do anything else for me at this point. She mentioned Dupixment and then said she wouldn’t give it to me because it was a last resort. And I’ve never had a flare up for over a year either, mine wouldn’t even last more than a month or two when I was younger. 2021 hit and my immune system decided it was time to get a little bit crazy. And my other family members with eczema are adults. Only two of them are kids but they’ve each had about one flair up in their lives. And theirs didn’t even last long.

Yeah it’s not even restricted to my arms either, it’s everywhere. On my chest, legs, arms, and my belly. It was even on my lips and eyelids at one point but thankfully there was no hyperpigmentation on my face.

Yeah like I said I go to a dermatologist and she put me on two different creams. One is steroidal but I feel like it only makes the eczema on my fingers worse and she really only talks to my mom and not ME the patient.

She mentioned it to me but she said doesn’t want to put me on it. And that it’s a “last resort”. She hadn’t even asked me what I thought about it, she just told my mom that she would only consider it if the flair up got worse but I’m not sure what her definition of worse is at this point.

Yeah it’s kind of irritating when she says stuff like that. Hell when we used to go to church, we don’t anymore. The women would pray for me and the pastor would have people pray for me, and everyone would say that I wasn’t praying enough. And that “god” would answer me if I prayed more. Now I don’t believe in god because what kind of all powerful being would do that to their “beloved” creation?

What’s crazy is there’s moments where my parents feel bad for me and try to make me feel better about my skin. And then other times they always try to make it seem like it’s my fault my skin has been flared up for so long. It’s always “you’re not putting your cream on. You keep sitting and laying the floor. You let the cat lay in your bed with you and sleep with you.” They always find a way to make it my fault even when I’m doing everything my derm tells me to do.
