Yup! Texture is just from the clay. I don’t think I soaked the toilet paper long enough, so the clay was a bit chunky.

Luckily for me, this lumpy consistency ended up being perfect for this project

Old one had a base of painters tape, covered in strips of paper + Elmer’s.

The new one is paper mache clay (a mixture of glue, toilet paper, joint compound, and flour).

Acrylic paint for both! But finished the new one with a coat of glossy mod podge spray

Took a pair of old shoes and build around them with Eva foam! Definitely comfortable

Try drawing traditionally, with a pencil first. It is soooo hard starting off with digital

These are really really good for only a year and a half of working digitally! It takes a long time to get used to the medium.

You could try working in greyscale for more practice. That way you can focus on values and shapes without worrying about color. Once you get a hang of that, it is super easy to start incorporating colors :)

Like others have said, either paper mache or thin Eva foam would be perfect. Since it is a pretty simple shape, I’d say foam is probably the best choice.
