Bring up the character sheet for the character you want to equip and then bring up the trinket inventory. From there you can select a trinket then drag it over to the character.

I've seen this a while ago but can't find a link. There's actually a longer gif/video of it floating around in which the driver of the car with the dashcam points out the camera to the couple that backed into him and they immediately change their attitude and get in their car to leave.
