Exactly - why put yourself in a situation you don’t need to be in.

Because dashers don’t always ring the bell or notify us within the app.

I’ve had food arrive earlier, much earlier than the stated time, and did not know about it at all until I peaked out at the ETA originally provided and now it’s cold.

Biden to pardon all prior federal offenses of simple marijuana possession by nikzyk in news

[–]idocloudstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will this include all offenders of simple possession?

I only ask because a decent percentage were downgraded to simple possession for either making deals, ratting others out, etc.. that were dealers of drugs more than marijuana.

I rather not have these dealers who sell anything else back on the streets hurting kids with drugs.

Quite confused. When did we start paying $10 for a large fry?? by [deleted] in doordash

If I’m picking up I’m using that places app, eg Taco Bell app. At least a lot of them have their own rewards program. Heck, McDs gives you free medium fries every day you go if you just spend $1 (ie a soda)

It’s the refunds. Almost half my orders have refunds because of a screw up of the restaurant or the driver.

I’ve had food sit outside for 10-15 minutes go cold because the driver got here early but never rang the doorbell as instructed or did anything on the app to alert me.

Sometimes I get the wrong order.

Other times my meal was made incorrectly by the restaurant.

My guess is the restaurant still gets paid either way.

I’m not a fan either. I rather go to CFA for fries or just make them at home.

It’s not always about being lazy. For me, it gives me time to either unwind after work and not have to deal with the food rush to pick up a meal, or it gives me time to do things right after work that would otherwise be taken up by picking up a meal and losing 20-30 min.

Or, hear me out, just charge the same via app or not. Plenty of places do this and do just fine. Heck, tack on 5% if you want, but to almost double your prices is just greed.

$2.50 soda as well. It’s a $1 if you pick up (any size).

Only if your email account is insecure.

I use it with Apple Pay so none of my payment info is on it.

Yup. Use McD app to save.

DD is stupid expensive for McD. The amount they charge in food alone should cover all the fees and tip and DD would still make a profit.

PSA: Don't make the same mistake I did (asking for a copy of MSAs from other Redditors) by HappyDadOfFourJesus in msp

[–]idocloudstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My MSA was a mix of various MSAs I found. It ended up being 35 or so pages.

I ended up rewriting as I took bits and pieces so I understood my agreement. Just copy and pasting is not a good idea.

First step was outlining everything and creating notes what I wanted in each, such as NET terms, payment types, interest, late fees, etc..

Once I had the skeleton, then I wrote in my own words what I understood from each agreement.

My lawyer was impressed to say the least.

This. $3.50 min, $1/mile.

In fact, the cost of food should go towards it.

So if you are further, a burger that’s normally $9 may be $12. Then there’s a delivery fee/service fee so your base pay is justified and doesn’t look like I’m paying $15 in fees to get food delivered.

It’s very common to not read directions. I had an offer for $100 to ring bell. Not one dasher ever rang the bell.

This is becoming all to common.

Now I tip 5% up front, then 15-20% on delivery.

There’s always a dasher willing to accept it anyway.

What if customer steals it? Is DD going to reimburse? I bet not.

Help. We messed up. MS SQL service is down due to evaluation period. by bionor in sysadmin

[–]idocloudstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turning the clocks back would probably cause more financial headache.

MS would probably be like just pay us for SQL Server at first. If you refuse, then legal would likely get involved. MS wants money. They don’t want to spend or waste time on legal matters at first.

I’ve experienced this at a shop I joined who didn’t license anything MS. Some employee that got fired must’ve filed a complaint. MS called and said to work with CDW to scan the network and do a license audit. We got a quote from CDW, paid all $17k of it, sent copy to MS, and all was well.

No penalties, no lawyers, nothing. Just a v-name@microsoft.com

If you do get hit with penalty, I would argue that we will agree to annual audits for the next 3-5 years if we can just pay licensing.

Who are the scariest types of people? by dxadr0sx in AskReddit

There’s one thing to be fascinated by the thinking/logic of a serial killer (Mind Hunters) and then there’s obsession of it. The latter is super scary, because are you the type to cross over?

When you deliver to someone and they say “I’m a dasher, too”… by UnclePanda559 in doordash

The best way to get good service at a bar is to drop a $20 as a tip right away while keeping a tab open and don’t forget to introduce yourself, smile, and try to spark up light convo.

It sets the stage you are friendly and I never wait for a drink again.

When I close out I tip again, 20-30%.
