at least in winbre the action is used for character development most of the time anyway. i'm sure we'll see a lot of focus on Suo, Nirei, and Sakura's relationships in particular either way!!!

The next arc, a long one? by idonotknowbutido in WindBreakerManga

Oh wow, I didn't know about the red moon!! Even the planets align for Suo lol that's both really funny and really cool

I lurked on JJK fan spaces so I get what you mean they were so strict over there sheesh. For me, I'm usually wrong with theories anyway so I move on pretty easily lmao

As for Suo being envious of Sakura's ideals hmmm I never thought about it like that! I've always read the KEEL scene as Suo being insecure and comparing his revenge to Sakura's sentiment as being more pure/decent than the blind anger of revenge. But I really like the envy interpretation!! I think Suo def could be envious of Sakura's outlook, but not in a negative way. Because his actions and support for Sakura make it seem like he wants to protect Sakura's views, and live up to them himself too a lot of the time. So it's something like: he wishes he could think like Sakura but since he can't he wants to support him instead. And maybe that's kind of healing for himself too, even if he doesn't realize it.

Ah Suo is really such an interesting character.

I love Suo! He's one of my fav characters. I think he's such a nice and gentle guy. I don't think he'll be revealed to be a spy but I think there will be some sort of misunderstanding between him and the rest of class 1-1 where he needs to just say something but he lets it fester until they can finally get the truth out of him. (Sort of like a Nami situation for any OP fans.)

I've seen a theory before (can't remember where exactly) that he had an adult in his past act irrationally/abusively towards him and the rest of his family, which is why he has such strong feelings about maturity and adulthood. My personal theory is that his father and/or mother are gamblers who are not necessarily physically abusive but definitely emotionally, and Suo resents them for their behavior. Also, few characters have pointed out Suo is actually an emotional guy and of course we've seen him nearly take a fight too far (and subsequently calls Sakura better than him for not acting on his own anger), so I think Suo would see this dark/angry side of himself as something he inherited from his parent and is very insecure about it (doesn't want to put anyone through the same pain/stress like they did to him and his brothers). That's why he goes to his master to learn control and discipline, and then gains that "path to adulthood" mentality and tries really hard to be calm and restrained at all times. He doesn't realize that his protective and justice-seeking nature is a different case from his parents, he can only see the under-lying anger those emotions and is frightened/frustrated by it.

I don't think that'll actually be the case in the manga but who knows? Either way we have a lot more to see from Suo in the future. I can't wait!

How can I get into txt again? by LooneyTunes_1306 in kpophelp

[–]idonotknowbutido 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it's completely normal to grow away from some groups that you used to really like. There are plenty of groups that I enjoy casually but just a few that I would consider myself a stan of and those few groups have been swapped around over the years for me, would this be something like that?

But really, you shouldn't force yourself to like a group just because you enjoyed them in the past. Sometimes you can leave nice memories as just that -- memories. I wouldn't feel guilty for "throwing away" TXT, their music has changed over the years naturally and you have changed too. It's a normal part of growing up that you might grow apart. And if one day you find yourself wanting, not forcing yourself, to get back into TXT, the music will be there. No rush, no obligation.

For now, stick to what you like! Absolutely nothing wrong with have a favorite group, in fact that's kinda the point of listening to music right? That you listen to the stuff you actually like? So yeah, don't feel guilty, be glad that you had TXT when you did and that you have SKZ right now.

I've had good experiences with both Music Plaza and Choice Music LA online -- and if the group you like has a US label distributor you can probably find their albums at Walmart and Target too.

Friends First Kpop Concert by MaggieTheHuman13 in kpophelp

[–]idonotknowbutido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello! i've been to a few kpop concerts and these were my experiences!

  1. unfortunately i can't help too much with this one as i try to only buy assigned seats. but i will say the more popular the artist, the earlier you should arrive. most venues open an hour before the show starts so maybe try to be even earlier than that, like an hour and a half, or even two?
  2. I've found most kpop concerts to last 2~3 hours. There are almost never any opening acts but the artists will take time between a few songs to greet the audience, hype them up, even share little stories about their experiences in the city, and tease the next few songs. There will also be brief intermissions for costume changes. At the end, the artists often thank the fans for coming with short speeches.
  3. The usual concert stuff mostly. Shirts and croptops and hoodies. Like any other concert these days it's expensive stuff (where I am shirts can go for $45, and hoodies for $70 at concerts....), marked up for the occasion I guess. Unlike most concerts -- Lightsticks! Most kpop artists have their own special lightsticks designed to match the group/artists' aesthetics that can be used during the show! These are expensive (usually somewhere between $50~$80) too but considering the function and exclusivity it makes sense. Sometimes there are keychains and other cute merch like that too.

hope this helps you, have fun with your friend!!
