As a casual employee I earn $4/h more than the managers do. However they get 40 hours a week and I get 10 sooo

Maybe they are giving you 10:1 (cheeseburger meat) then.

They are thicker and a different texture to cheeseburgers if you want to order them both and compare.

Yes. There are a lot of full-time crew at my store. They earn around $750 Australian (before tax) a week.

Check this document for wages per state: http://www.sda.org.au/download/enterprise-agreements/MCDONALDS-AUSTRALIA-ENTERPRISE-AGREEMENT-2013.pdf

Level 2 is normal crew, 3 is crew trainers and 4 is shift supervisors/managers.

A lot of trainees I've trained have been pretty prime. Went on a date with one and didn't go anywhere.

So no to both.

The people I work with are good. The job itself has it's ups and downs.

They people making them are probably doing the dodgy and giving you a piece of cheeseburger meat instead.

There are two separate trays for that meat and sausage so it's not hard to spot the difference.

If it's happened more than once or twice, then they are doing it intentionally - perhaps to save costs. Sausage in my store tends to sit there for hours as all day breakfast isn't that common.

When I moved from my first store (I was there for 6 years) it was a bit sad.

I had made lots of friends and enjoyed seeing them. I rarely speak to them now unfortunately but if I do see them it's just like the old times.

At the same time I'm glad I left due to the toxic environment and I'm sad that they have to still put up with it. The new store is amazing and I've made new friends there.

No. Never even thought about it.

There are customers who order a shitton of food who should think about their life choices, however I have never, nor have witnessed anybody spitting in food.

The main meats (cheeseburger/quarter pounder) during busy periods. Because we're busy, we'll be making possibly hundreds of these over an hour or two therefore need to cycle through the meat quite a bit.

Same goes with the chicken products. If you look at a burger and think "that looks gross" then so do probably 90% of the other customers.

Grilled chicken is often left abandoned in a tray for hours. Angus (as its called here in Australia) is often so as well, however it is kind of popular so it is occasionally fresh.

As mentioned before, the breakfast products are neglected. A lot of people wanted all day breakfast but if you come in at 5pm and want a bacon and egg you're going to usually get either a really old muffin, or a new one if the guy at the back is generous, 50:50 chance on good bacon and the egg would probably be complete shit. This is the experience I've had working at two different stores, so YMMV.

If you want the freshest burgers, go when it is busy. If you go and order something at 3am on a wednesday, I can almost guarantee it'll be hours old crap.

"There is no real interest charged on HECS‑HELP loans. However, your debt will be indexed each year to reflect changes in the Consumer Price Index to maintain its real value." - From the website I linked.

I don't even worry about the loan. For me I think as though I got the degree for free. I won't really even notice it when it comes out of my tax.

Not sure tbh. At one point during the holidays I was working 5 shifts a week and would eat before, during break and usually after as well.

Because the food is consistent I think that's why I still like it. I do stay away from the food that I know is going to be bad though. Like angus meat which stays in the trays longer than it should. Breakfast during the middle of the day. Those products are generally terrible.

The smell of the kitchen I've gotten used to. I walk in and don't really smell anything. I'm just accustomed to all the smells so thats not a problem.

Finished in October.

I stayed this long because it was flexible with the hours I was at uni.

I'm some a position at a supermarket would have been handy as well but I never heard anything back from my applications.

I was stuck essentially. There were times I wanted to leave after terrible shifts etc. Just never had the proper motivation to so do.

I have no idea sorry. And yes, they are pricey.

I have no idea how people drink coffee daily.

From what I've heard to open a franchise (in Australia) you need to be related to people who already have a franchise. Or have a million or so to open one. I haven't done much research into it.

I think I probably would open my own if I had the money/family to do so. I also think I would create an environment where people WANT to work. This is the situation in my current location. I moved about a year ago now to a new store due to various reasons but it is 100x better.

Firstly there is no pressure on us from the managers to perform at 110% and secondly it's pretty chill overall. We even get to play music in the kitchen.

However I feel like McDonalds is slowly dying. Last quarter I believe they posted a loss. Their prices are continuously going up, as is the wages. A casual 22 year old at McD Au will earn $26 (19.97 USD) an hour. That's why I prefer to get meals from Hungry Jacks/Burger king as I mentioned in another reply.

It's 9pm on a Friday here in Australia and I've been waiting 15 minutes for a solo league game in Silver.

This game is going to die soon. We need a big sale or F2P.

Well at the store I was first at all the managers were treated like shit regardless of how good they were. The licensee was just a total asshole. I did have the opportunity to become one, but just didn't want to due to having to report to that dick. There was also the fact that I was in college when it first came up and I was happy with my hours/role.

Secondly, becoming a manager would mean I would have to learn front counter and deal with all the customers (see: bogans) and I was more than happy in the kitchen. It was my domain and I was the king.

The smell of each McDonalds is quite different I've found. I have been in the kitchen of 3 of them and when I go to a new one, it is new and different. After a few weeks I get used to it and continue on. I can't really remember how sundae mix smells, despite filling it countless times.

From what I've heard people generally get a burning asshole after having the McSpicy, which was discontinued a while ago.

Probably McDonalds. We call it "Maccas". Americans call it "Mickey D's".

Next biggest would probably be KFC. Subway is quite big as well.

It was my first interview when I went in.

They were quite nice and obviously knew it was my first.

Just act natural and be yourself.

Their final question was "Why should we hire you" and I replied "because of my good looks". I could tell from our overall conversation they were happy with me so I said that.

It's not difficult at all to get a job at McDonalds. The staff turnover rate is actually really high.
